Continental breakfast: 5 solid selections from Sunday’s European football

Ajax and Napoli to continue their impressive form, plus more tips in our latest enhanced accumulator...

Ajax to beat Vitesse – {ODDS:137005862:4/6}

Backing Ajax may seem like an unnecessary risk, given Vitesse’s impressive form of late. But it isn’t.

Ajax are unbeaten in seven in all competitions and have only lost one league game in their last 19 – winning five on the bounce.

Peter Bosz’s side have also kept clean sheets in their last four Eredivisie matches.

Vitesse, meanwhile, have failed to shut their opponents out in four of their last six.

Even though they’ve won three in five, they will struggle to cope with Ajax.

Napoli to beat Chievo – {ODDS:135621021:1/2}

Chievo have little chance of getting anything out of this one.

Last weekend’s win against Sassuolo win was only their second victory in eight for the 11th-placed side, with five of those ending in defeat.

A similar result is likely on Sunday, given that Napoli are unbeaten in 13 league games and top the Serie A form table.

Nine of those matches ended in victory for Maurizio Sarri’s side, who thrashed Bologna 7-1 in their most recent away game.

Napoli also have Serie A’s second-best away record and have scored 57 goals so far this season – the most in the division.

An intimidating prospect for Chievo, who have netted just 25 – fewer than any sides in the top 13 of Serie A.

Lyon to beat Dijon – {ODDS:136860434:4/11}

This is a banker, simply because of Dijon’s hopeless away record.

Unlike their name, they are not mustard.

After 12 games on the road this season, they have managed just one win – against bottom-of-the-league Lorient – and only picked up seven points.

That does not bode well for their visit to Lyon.

The fourth-placed side have won four league games out of five at home, the most recent being a 4-0 win over Nancy.

Expect a similar result here.

Schalke to beat Cologne – {ODDS:135430473:15/8}

This is the boost’s longest-priced pick, given Schalke’s difficult season so far, but is still worth including.

Die Konigsblauen are unbeaten in four, having won three on the spin and earning an impressive draw away to Bayern Munich.

A positive result against Cologne, who have lost back-to-back games, should be a simple task.

The home side have won just two in 10, failing to score in four of those.

A difficult match awaits against a side that has scored nine in three.

Roma to beat Torino – {ODDS:135624088:9/20}

Rounding the five-fold off this week, we’re going Italian again.

Torino should not go into this match expecting anything, even after their 5-3 win over Pescara last weekend.

That is because Roma – along with Juventus – are the only other side in Serie A to have a 100 per cent home record.

They have also only failed to win two in 16 in all competitions at Stadio Olimpico and have conceded just one goal in five.
