Championship football tips for Wednesday 19 08 18

Back our 12/1 accumulator that includes football tips from the latest round of midweek action in England's second tier.

Middlesbrough to beat Bolton {ODDS:319494449:4/9}

Middlesbrough’s form at the Riverside means they have to be backed on Wednesday.

Tony Pulis’ side have won 12 of their last 14 league games at home, including three from three this season.

They should extend that sequence against Bolton, who have picked up just one point from their last three matches and won two away games in 14.

Sheffield Wednesday to win or draw v Nottingham Forest {ODDS:319520961:10/11}

Sheffield Wednesday battled back from two goals down to earn a point at home to Stoke last time out, making it three wins and a draw from their last four league games.

Netting the equaliser in that game was the latest sign of Barry Bannan’s importance to the Owls. They are always worth backing with the Scottish international in their side, having taken 30 points from the 16 league games since his return from injury on 17 March – the equal-most in the Championship.

Nottingham Forest’s 0-0 draw at Swansea on Saturday means they have won just one of their seven league games this season, a 1-0 home win against strugglers Reading.

Sheffield United to beat Birmingham {ODDS:319521427:5/6}

Sheffield United had won four straight league games prior to their defeat at Bristol City on Saturday, including back-to-back victories at Bramall Lane.

With a return possible for influential midfielder John Fleck, who was present in each of those victories but missed the game at the weekend, the Blades look a tasty price.

Birmingham are still searching for their first win of the season after nine matches in all competitions, and have lost three of their four away games without scoring.

Norwich to beat Reading {ODDS:319676760:17/10}

Reading are yet to win a point after three league games at the Madejski Stadium this season and occupy a spot in the relegation zone in the early table.

The Royals are among the worst sides in the Championship for xG allowed per match and are also one of the least creative.

Norwich inflicted Middlesbrough’s first defeat of the season at the weekend to make it two wins and a draw from their last three matches in all competitions, and should profit from their hosts’ ineffectual style.
