5 tips from Wednesday’s European action

Earn a tidy profit with these midweek picks from La Liga and Ligue 1, which make up a 13/1 accumulator.

Montpellier to beat Amiens (18:00) –

Amiens’ poor form continued last Saturday with a 1-0 defeat to Nice.

That was the strugglers’ fifth consecutive defeat without scoring and seventh loss in eight in all competitions.

Montpellier earned a decent 0-0 draw with Monaco last Saturday and have now lost just once in their last 12.

Metz to beat Saint Etienne (18:00) –

Metz took another step to turning their season around at the weekend with a 1-1 draw at Dijon.

The bottom side are now nine points from safety after earning seven points from their last three league games.

Saint Etienne have lost four away games on the spin and are without a victory in seven on the road.

Valencia to beat Alaves (18:00) –

Valencia have responded to their three-game winless period last month by notching three victories on the bounce.

They won 2-1 away to Deportivo at the weekend, and have also managed nine victories in 12 at the Mestalla.

Alaves have been impressive at home but have suffered seven away defeats in 11.

Atletico Madrid to beat Sevilla (18:00) –

Atletico dispatched Europe’s most in-form side Eibar at the weekend and have now won 10 of their last 12 in all competitions.

They have won six on the spin at the Wanda Metropolitano, and should make it seven on Wednesday.

Sevilla were beaten 1-0 by strugglers Alaves on Sunday and have lost three out of four on the road.

Barcelona to beat Espanyol (20:00) –

Barcelona came back from two goals down to beat Real Sociedad 4-2 in their last league game.

That was Ernesto Valverde’s side’s 29th game without defeat and seventh victory in their last eight in all competitions.

Espanyol were hammered 5-0 at the Nou Camp back in September and have managed just one home win in their last four.
