4 tips from the FA Cup second-round replays

Gillingham to progress v Carlisle –

Gillingham were beaten by a last-minute Plymouth goal at the weekend, but should be able to edge past a team from a division lower on Tuesday.

Steve Lovell’s side have won four of their last six away games in all competitions, with their only defeat coming last Saturday.

Carlisle drew with Morecambe last time out at Brunton Park and have won just two home games out of 12.

Blackburn to beat Crewe –

Blackburn were 3-0 up against Crewe after 20 minutes in the original fixture, only to be held to a draw after having two players sent off.

That was the only game in six that Tony Mowbray’s side have failed to win.

Crewe were beaten 1-0 at Cheltenham on Saturday and have now lost four of their last six in all competitions.

Peterborough to beat Woking –

Peterborough dispatched Tranmere in a first-round replay, beating them 5-0 in November, and have won 10 of their last 11 FA Cup ties against lower-league opposition.

Posh have also won two out of three at the ABAX Stadium and are a decent price to overcome a side from two divisions below.

Woking haven’t played since the original fixture a fortnight ago, and have won just one away game in five in all competitions.

Wigan (-1) to beat AFC Fylde –

Wigan went top of League One with a 2-0 victory over Fleetwood last weekend and should easily book their place in the third round.

That was the Latics’ ninth home victory in 12 matches and second consecutive win by a margin of two or more goals.

Fylde were beaten 1-0 at Boreham Wood on Saturday and have lost three out of five on the road.
