Social media personality George Clarke is the favourite to win the BBC ballroom dancing competition.
Season 23 of Strictly Come Dancing began last month with 15 new celebrities strutting their stuff on our screens. Out of the remaining 8 contestants, George Clarke is currently the favourite in the betting odds, with the YouTuber to emerge as this year’s winner.
He’s followed in the odds by former Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope, former footballer Karen Carney, and TV personality Vicky Pattison.
Among the original celebrities who caused a surprise as an outsider is former Chelsea and Leeds striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who, before the show began, spoke with online casino Betway about his latest adventure.
“I’ve really enjoyed it,” Hasselbaink said. “It’s really, really hard. It’s tough, really tough. I’m in the unknown so I’m very nervous, but on the other side it’s very exciting as well.
“It’s been much tougher than I thought but there haven’t been any injuries yet.
“I’m competitive. I want to be the best version that I can be and I want to learn. I don’t want to become a dancer, but I want to learn how to dance and I want to do it properly. I want to make people proud.”
Hasselbaink also revealed which current Premier League player he thinks would be the best ballroom dancer.
“I think Virgil Van Dijk. He has the posture for it.”
