Mark Selby is backstage at the Betway UK Championship, but he's thinking about 2 May.

That was the night when, in the space of 13 minutes, he won his second World Championship and his beloved Leicester City clinched the Premier League title.

So in celebration of the greatest night in his city’s sporting history, we asked him to select his all-time Foxes XI.

Selby has come prepared, having written his team on his phone.

There's no place for his favourite Leicester player, while picking the manager proves to be the hardest decision of all….

GK: Kasper Schmeichel

"Kasey Keller, for many years, was a good 'keeper, but Schmeichel was a no-brainer, really.

"He’s very, very similar to his dad at one-on-ones and is a great shot-stopper."

RB: Danny Simpson

"He’s been to a few clubs in his time, but in the years he’s been with Leicester I think he’s been really solid and reliable."

CB: Wes Morgan

"Steve Walsh is a Leicester legend and I’ve got some great memories of watching him captaining the club for many years.

"But what Wes achieved last year – he was rock solid, nothing went through him – he just pipped him."

CB: Matt Elliot

"An absolute legend.

"He still does the commentary with Ian Stringer on BBC Radio Leicester. He was like a brick wall - so consistent and really good in the air."

LB: Christian Fuchs

"Over the last few seasons he’s been brilliant.

"I went to watch the Champions League game against Copenhagen and he stood out.

"He’s just signed a new three-year deal, too, which is nice."

RM: Riyad Mahrez

"One of the best players I’ve ever seen in my era watching Leicester – very skillful, great to watch.

"Hopefully he can stay for as long as possible. The way we’ve started this year in the Premier League, we’ll do well to hold on to him."

CM: Danny Drinkwater

"It’s a tough one. Before Leicester achieved what they did last year, if someone asked who my all-time favourite Leicester player was, then Muzzy Izzet was one of them.

"But with the England cap and what he achieved last year, I had to go for Drinkwater."

CM: N’Golo Kante

"Even though he left. He’s another one who never stopped running – he covered so much ground and is just great to watch.

"He’s gone to Chelsea and he stands out a mile in a great team there."

LM: Steve Guppy

"He used to run down that flank, lightning he was.

"He was a great crosser of the ball, too. Very rarely put a bad delivery in.

"I couldn’t have anyone else."

CF: Jamie Vardy

"Vardy's top of the list.

"What he’s achieved in the last four or five years is phenomenal, I think he’s going to go down as one of Leicester’s all-time legends."

CF: Emile Heskey

"Another Leicester legend.

"He was there for years and got many England caps. He went on to Liverpool from Leicester and played well there as well."

Manager: Claudio Ranieri

"I was hoping I wouldn’t have to pick a manager. It’s a tough one – Claudio Ranieri or Martin O’Neill?

"O’Neill did great - we had a spell where we got to Wembley three times in four years with a team that, if you looked at it on paper, wouldn’t think is world-beating. But he got the best out of them.

"So he was there, but it would be hard for me to look past Ranieri after winning the Premier League in his first season with us.

"Sorry, Martin."
