Does Ronnie O’Sullivan have another world title in him?
I really think he can win an eighth world championship. He has the talent, the capability and he wants to compete and win big events. That’s the main thing. Ronnie is applying himself and will put his efforts into winning big tournaments and if he is willing to put the work in, then he will be in contention for all of the tournaments he plays in.
Will Ronnie be a full-time snooker player this season or continue to pick and choose events?
That’s the $64,000 question. With Ronnie, he may be playing two or three tournaments and then decide to have a break. We just don’t know but the main thing is, you can see in him that he is dedicated and will try his best and that’s the main thing with Ronnie, he looks like he is motivated and that can only be a good thing. If Ronnie gets into form, I believe he will win the elusive eighth world title and will be the outright holder for most world title wins.
Ronnie said Trump, Wilson and Xintong are levels ahead of the rest, is that the case?
It is hard to see outside of the top six in winning tournaments this season, but you may add Mark Selby in too. The class of 92 will always have a chance to win tournaments in Mark Williams, John Higgins and Ronnie O’Sullivan. You have eight, nine or 10 players who are playing great snooker and can win any tournament.
You have Judd Trump, Kyren Wilson and Zhao Xintong who are leading the way, but the sport is in a great place, and you have so many players who can win. Ronnie O’Sullivan can still win many tournaments without a doubt so it would be great to see him play in as many tournaments as possible
What are your thoughts on Luca Brecel pulling out of the event?
Luca is a fantastic talent, and we all wish him a speedy recovery. He is a fantastic talent and when he won the World Championship at the Crucible, it was breathtaking, and he was exceptional throughout the tournament. We are all concerned and hope that he is okay because he is well liked and a popular player.
