New Orleans Saints to beat San Francisco 49ers
This should be a cracking game between possibly the two best teams in the NFC.
The 49ers looked unstoppable in the first half of the season, but they’ve now lost two of their last four games after being beaten 20-17 by the Baltimore Ravens last week.
The Saints, meanwhile, have won three games in a row and have a 5-1 season at home.
New Orleans’ run defence is the third-best in the NFL, and that should prove crucial on Sunday. San Francisco’s offense is built upon success on the ground, and they could struggle to score if the Saints shut down their running backs.
Pittsburgh Steelers to beat Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals suffered a 34-7 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday in which their offense couldn’t get going, with rookie quarterback Kyler Murray struggling.
In Pittsburgh, they face the league’s sixth-best defence coming off an impressive 20-13 win over the Cleveland Browns.
The Steelers have conceded 14 points or fewer in four of their last six games, and they should be able to force Murray into mistakes on the way to a low-scoring win.
Tennessee Titans to beat Oakland Raiders
The Titans boosted their playoff chances with a 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts last week, meaning they’re now won three games in a row, scoring 31 points or more in each one.
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been excellent since he became the starter in Week 7, and he should shred a Raiders defence that has conceded the fifth-most points in the NFL.
The Raiders have lost their last two games 34-3 and 40-9, so it’s hard to see them turning their form around against the in-form Titans.
Seattle Seahawks to beat Los Angeles Rams
The Seahawks earned a thrilling 37-30 victory over the Minnesota Vikings last week, meaning they’ve now won five consecutive games, including a victory over the then-undefeated 49ers.
They also beat the Rams 30-29 back in Week 5, and a repeat of that result is likely on Sunday night.
Los Angeles played well against the Cardinals last week but they’ve lost two of their last four games, including a 45-6 thrashing at home to the Baltimore Ravens a fortnight ago.
