Green Bay Packers to beat Minnesota Vikings – {ODDS:197935496:10/17}
The Packers beat the Cowboys in Dallas last weekend to move to 4-1 for the season, with the Atlanta Falcons – the defending NFC champions – the only team to beat them so far.
Green Bay are averaging the sixth-most points in the league and have scored the most passing touchdowns. Their rushing attack is also improving, with 160 yards last week.
That kind of offensive performance should be enough to beat the Vikings, who are having a decent season but still rank just 21st in points per game.
With starting quarterback Sam Bradford almost definitely out injured, Minnesota will struggle to outscore the in-form Packers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers to beat Arizona Cardinals – {ODDS:197936037:5/6}
The Buccaneers’ offense was expected to be one of the best in the NFL this season, but currently ranks just 17th in points per game.
They should get going on Sunday against a Cardinals defence that has conceded the fifth-most points in the league.
Arizona have been bad on both sides of the ball, averaging just 16.2 points per game – the league’s fourth-fewest – and ranking dead last in rushing yards.
They’ve only managed to scrape overtime wins over the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers – two of the three or four worst teams in the NFL – and it’s hard to see any way they manage to win against a better side this weekend.
Jacksonville Jaguars to beat Los Angeles Rams – {ODDS:197935898:20/29}
No-one would have expected the Jaguars and Rams to have six wins between them at this point of the season, but one of these teams is somehow going to be 4-2 on Sunday night.
That team will be the Jaguars, who have conceded the second-fewest points per game in the NFL so far and have the highest points differential in the league.
Jacksonville have beaten the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers – all potential playoff teams – and held each of them to under 10 points.
The Rams have put up big numbers offensively this season but struggled against the first great defence they’ve faced, scoring just 10 in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week.
The Jags should manage to shut them down and take full control of the AFC South.
Kansas City Chiefs to beat Pittsburgh Steelers – {ODDS:197936178:5/11}
The Chiefs saw off the Houston Texans at home last week to remain undefeated after five games.
They’ve scored 164 points – the most in the NFL – and have only turned the ball over once offensively.
Another win looks likely against the Steelers, who suffered a shock defeat at home to the Jaguars last Sunday to fall to 3-2.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s five-interception performance left him questioning whether he’s still got it at the age of 35, and he could once again struggle against a Chiefs defence that has been one of the league’s best over the past few years.
