Here are Jack Green‘s five bets to consider for the Week 3 clash between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennesee Titans on Thursday night.
Tennessee Titans to win
The Titans have won all four meetings between these teams over the past two years and are poised to extend that run on Thursday night.
Tennessee lost last week but looked very impressive in a rout of the Browns in Cleveland in Week 1, while Jacksonville have lost both of their opening games and are without injured starting quarterback Nick Foles.
Under 39 total points
Tennessee won 9-6 when these teams last met in Jacksonville and, while Thursday’s game might not be quite as low scoring, it’s hard to see either team reaching 20 points.
They scored a combined total of 29 last week, and the Titans have conceded just 32 across their two games so far.
Derrick Henry over 74.5 rushing yards
Henry rushed for over 80 yards in each of the Titans’ first two games this season and has averaged 125 rushing yards per game dating back to Week 13 of last year.
The Jaguars gave up 90 yards on the ground to Carlos Hyde last week and 81 to LeSean McCoy in Week 1, neither of whom are as talented as Henry.
Gardner Minshew under 225.5 passing yards
Minshew hasn’t done badly since replacing Foles as the Jaguars quarterback early in Week 1, but he’s in for a tough test against the Tennessee defence this week.
The Titans have allowed just 365 passing yards in two games this season – the second-fewest in the NFL – and they have already forced four interceptions.
Delanie Walker to score a touchdown
Walker has been targeted 12 times by Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota this season, three more than any other player.
The tight end failed to get in the end zone last week but caught two touchdowns in Week 1 and is clearly Tennessee’s biggest threat through the air.
