Thursday racing tips: All systems Go Dante at Lingfield

Daniel Hill's best bets for Thursday include two from the jumps at Lingfield and one on the All-Weather at Chelmsford.

There is plenty of racing in both codes today, with three jumps meetings at Lingfield, Stratford and Thurles, and three Flat meetings all taking place on the All-Weather at Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Chelmsford, the last-named the only meeting taking place in the evening.

We have three fancies, two from the jumps action at Lingfield and one from Chelmsford.

Selections

Kap Chidley (Lingfield 1.20)

Go Dante (Lingfield 1.55)

Neapolitan (Chelmsford 6.00)

Kap Chidley can make point and reverse form

Kap Chidley has every chance of reversing the form with Safe Destination. The pair came up against each other just 25 days ago at Uttoxeter and it could have gone either way at the second-last. However, Kap Chidley made a small mistake which allowed Safe Destination to take control and win by four lengths. It was still a very good run from Kap Chidley, who was running over three miles for the first time under National Hunt rules. Safe Destination is trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies, who is very good at getting horses ready first time out and it may have been that he was a bit fitter than his rival. There is plenty more to come from Kap Chidley over fences, and he can come on for his Uttoxeter run with a 5lb pull in the weights from Safe Destination.

All systems Go Dante

There is plenty of rain forecast in and around Lingfield and we need to look for horses who will benefit from this. One who catches my eye is the Olly Murphy-trained Go Dante, who has two wins on soft ground. He makes his seasonal reappearance after a wind op in the summer. This race is a much easier task than his last start in a competitive handicap hurdle at Aintree when he finished eighth and did not disgrace himself. He is one of three Murphy runners in the race, but Go Dante will be ridden by the excellent Sean Bowen, suggesting he is the stable’s main hope.

Neapolitan can provide Crisford team with another sweet victory

Neapolitan was an impressive winner last time out at Kempton over 6f. He sat midfield off the pace throughout and when asked for an effort breezed past horses to hit the front and was then eased in the final few yards, giving the impression he could have showed a lot more if needed. There is plenty of stamina in his pedigree, so should have no issue with 7f today and should get even further in time. He will carry a 7lb penalty for his last win, but I am expecting he can show us a lot more and can defy the penalty. Louis Quatorze will be fancied by some, having run in some strong races in France. However, he was well beaten on both occasions and was found wanting in a maiden at Goodwood as well.
