Richard Fahey has three entered in Ascot’s feature race but the six-year-old could be his best bet...
The 2.30pm at Ascot is where we begin and Sir Michael Stoute’s Kings Fete looks the best bet here.
Back in July he managed to claim his first win for nearly two years at Goodwood but his last two performances have looked his best.
He won at 1m 4f at Goodwood and 1m 5f last time out at Newbury so the distance should not be an issue on Saturday.
At {ODDS:111676929:7/2} he looks a great price to claim a third win on the bounce.
Shalaa looking for a fifth win in a row in the 3.05pm
Up next and it’s hard to look past John Gosden’s Shalaa.
The three-year-old had a nightmare debut at Newbury, where he finished last, but since then has won all four of his rides.
The colt was particularly impressive in his wins at Deauville and Goodwood.
With this week marking the anniversary of Frankie Dettori’s ‘Magnificent 7’, it would be a fitting win at {ODDS:111676947:15/8}.
Richard Fahey could have the Right Touch in the Challenge Cup
Now for the feature race at Ascot for the day – the 3.40pm Challenge Cup.
There are 18 entered in this 7f handicap, with Richard Fahey, William Haggas and David O’Meara all having three horses entered.
The likes of Squats, Firmament and Librisa Breeze are among the favourites, but there could be solid value with Right Touch.
He has a lot of experience in big handicap fields and holds victories over 7f at both Ayr and Chester.
Stable jockey Tony Hamilton is the man on board and rode him last time out as he was an impressive runner-up at Chester.
With four places on offer, {ODDS:111676971:16/1} looks a good each-way bet here.
Willytheconqueror to claim that illusive win in the
The 4.15pm race has a lot of quality on offer.
Roger Varian’s Double Up, Sole Power and Kimberella, who has had a solid season, top the betting.
However, Willytheconqueror looks a decent bet here.
He was a very impressive second in the Beverley Bullet in August and has been in solid form all year.
Two wins and four places from ten runs in 2016 have proved that this three-year-old is progressing nicely.
His last win came at Sandown in April and at {ODDS:111676988:7/1} he looks a good price to end that winless six-month streak.
In-form Pixeleen looking for a first win for 14 months
Moving across to Newmarket for the Fillies’ Sprint Handicap at 2.15pm where 13 are entered to battle it out over 6f.
This one looks hard to call, but Malcolm Saunders’ Pixeleen looks a good bet here.
The filly has been in solid form this year, having either won or placed in 13 of her last 15 runs.
With experienced jockey John Egan riding, 8/1 looks a great price.
Lucky 15:
Kings Fete 7/2 | Shalaa 2/1 | Willytheconqueror 11/2 | Pixeleen 8/1
