There's a bumper day of racing to look forward to on Saturday and we have picked out four bets across the UK and Ireland in a Lucky 15.
A typically busy Saturday is coming up, with Haydock and Kempton hosting the two Premier Raceday meetings, the former featuring the Group 1 Sprint Cup and the Old Borough Cup, whilst the Group 3 September Stakes and Sirenia Stakes are the standout races from a strong card at the Surrey track.
There is some strong supporting action from Ascot, Thirsk and Navan before Stratford’s twilight jumps fixture and an eight-race all-weather card under the lights at Wolverhampton.
Here are our best horse racing betting tips to fill out your Lucky 15.
Saturday Lucky 15 racing tips
- 13:35 Kempton – Kalpana @ 4/9
- 13:45 Navan – Tharaka @ 5/2
- 14:25 Haydock – Valiancy @ 100/30
- 14:40 Ascot – Native Warrior @ 5/1
13:35 Kempton – Kalpana @ 4/9
Andrew Balding’s Kalpana has been knocking at the door in some of the top middle-distance races this term and she ought to find the Group 3 September Stakes considerably easier.
The daughter of Study Of Man was prolific as a three-year-old, rattling off five victories, including in this very race prior to coming of age in the Group 1 Champion Filles And Mares at Ascot in October.
She’s not yet won in 2025, but she has done little wrong, finishing an excellent third behind Los Angeles in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh, second behind Oaks runner-up Whirl in the Pretty Polly Stakes and finding only Calandagan too good in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes back at Ascot last month.
She tops these ratings and gets a handy sex allowance of 3lb from Marco Botti’s Hong Kong Vase winner, Giavellotto.
13:45 Navan – Tharaka @ 5/2
A total of 130 runners have been declared for Navan’s eight-race card on Saturday afternoon, but not all the races are deep, including the opening fillies’ maiden, where only a handful of the 16-strong field can be seriously considered.
Preference is for the Kevin Condon-trained Tharaka, who has improved with each of her three runs to date and has strong claims of opening her account judged on what she has achieved when finishing in the frame at Gowran Park and at Roscommon.
She was considered to have run to a Racing Post Rating (RPR) of 77 when fourth in a better race to this at Roscommon last time and that reads particularly well in the context of this event. She has first-time cheekpieces added on this occasion and further improvement can be anticipated.
14:25 Haydock – Valiancy @ 100/30
William Haggas has a good record in this three-year-old staying handicap in recent years, Favourite Moon winning in 2020 followed by Naaqeeb in 2023. He relies solely on Valiancy on this occasion and he looks a big threat to all, the addition of first-time cheekpieces a positive move as he attempts to turn the tables on Pole Star from their two previous meetings at this track this season.
The son of Cracksman has only won one of five outings so far, but he’s run some big races in defeat either side of a ready Hamilton maiden win, including when third over this course and distance in July.
He’s closely matched with both Pole Star and Way Of Stars on that form, but he’s considerably better off at the weights with the former and could well take another step forward in his added headgear.
14:40 Ascot – Native Warrior @ 5/1
Jamie Spencer has ridden some masterful races during his long and successful career on the straight track at Ascot and he could be tailor made for Karl Burke’s Native Warrior.
The selection will very likely go off towards the head of the market for the Schweppes Handicap, but that’s well deserved given the steady and persistent improvement he’s shown this season.
A drop back to 7f in a visor has been the catalyst for his recent progress, the son of Wootton Bassett winning at Newcastle in June and finishing an excellent third in a 20-runner handicap at Glorious Goodwood.
He’s 3lb above his last winning mark, but he’s still relatively unexposed and should relish this track’s stiff finish.
