4 To Win: The horses that could win you £10k on Saturday
Chad Yeomans reveals his best horse racing tips for Newmarket and Newcastle on Saturday to help you win the jackpot in our free-to-play prediction game.
4 To Win is Betway's free-to-play prediction game, with a £1,000 prize on offer every single day and an increased jackpot of £10,000 for all ITV meetings. Simply guess the winner of four chosen races for your chance to claim the cash.
The Palace House Stakes has been won in the past two years by trainer Michael Dods and his star-sprinter, Mabs Cross. This year, the northern raider relies on the four year old Moss Gill, who has the benefit of a more recent run, when he was successful at Wolverhampton in March.
He does, however, need to step up again to be fighting off this new mark.
At a huge price, it could be worth siding with THE CRUISING LORD for trainer Michael Attwater, whose horses have all run with credit so far, despite all being huge prices.
He’s a much better horse over five furlongs than over six furlongs, so I’m happy to put a line through two of the three disappointing runs he put in last season. Two of them were over six furlongs and in the other - his last race of the season – he lost a shoe.
He’s got more class than he’s rated for and was a winner on quick ground first time up at Bath last season.
He’ll need to bolt from the stalls and make it a real test for them, but if he’s primed first time out, he could be dangerously overpriced.
The Heed Your Hunch at Betway Handicap is over the straight seven furlongs at Newcastle and is fiercely competitive.
You could make a case for most of the field although if any of the top three on the race card win then you’d have to suggest they’d be in group company next time.
LORD OBERON possesses plenty of natural talent and is still lightly raced, with this being just his twelfth career start.
The five-year-old appears to need cut in the ground, but sometimes that doesn’t make too much difference on a synthetic surface like he runs on here.
His trainer Karl Burke is in red-hot form and if he’s back to his best, he ought to go well in this.
Salateen is a real trier and on his just second start for Kevin Ryan, he can run well at a big price.
The feature race on the card at Newcastle is the Betway Sagaro Stakes, a race formally run at Ascot. This year's rescheduled renewal has attracted a superb field.
Nayef Road is a typical horse from Mark Johnston’s yard.
He is tough as teak, keeps trying and had a good campaign last year, including a good second in the St Leger. If he truly stays this two-mile trip, he’ll surely go well for his in-form trainer.
WITHHOLD is still relatively lightly raced for a seven-year-old, but the Roger Charlton-trained horse has plenty of ability and even won the Northumberland Plate in 2018 over course and distance.
If he’s fit enough to do himself justice first time up, he surely won’t be far away.
The final leg of the 4 To Win is another competitive handicap, with another maximum of field of 12 going to post.
While he’ll be towards the bottom of the market, I can’t help but think that AMBASSADORIAL has a big run in him, especially as he runs off his turf mark of 89.
It’s worth nothing his AW mark is 108. He loves fast ground as she’s shown with some good performances in Dubai and if those runs at the start of this calendar year have given him a slight fitness edge over his rivals, he could be a really interesting selection.
It’s going to be quick ground, and those ridden handy have fared well this week, so I don’t see any reason as to why Pinnata won’t run a good race under Sean Levey.
The six-year-old also ran in March of this year, so he does a recent fitness edge. In his two recent runs, he’s shown himself to have improved.
It’s also worth nothing those two all-weather runs were off marks of 90 (when he won) and 95 on his latest start, but he runs off his turf mark of 80 here.
Levey was on board when he was successful over a mile at Leicester last August and there’s no reason to think they won’t go well here.
