13:25 WINCANTON
TOP PICK: DARCY WARD
Second choice: Rhythm Is A Dancer
This Handicap Hurdle has been won by the favourite in five of the last nine years.
There has only been one winner at a double-figure price in that period, last year’s victor Protek Des Flos.
He hailed from the Nicky Henderson stable who are responsible for William Henry in this year’s race. He’s a likely favourite but has a long absence from the track to overcome, and for that reason he is opposable.
DARCY WARD has a similar profile to previous winners of the race. James Best comes in for the ride on a return to a more suitable trip.
14:10 WETHERBY
TOP PICK: CAPTAIN CHAOS
Second choice: Lake View Lad
Seven-year-olds have a good record in this race with five wins in the last seven seasons.
Last year’s winning trainer Dan Skelton has a horse, CAPTAIN CHAOS, who is a course-and-distance winner in that age bracket.
He was second in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle last time out and this race doesn’t look as competitive.
15:05 KEMPTON
TOP PICK: NATIVE RIVER
Second choice: Bristol De Mai
NATIVE RIVER can win the King George, and land a first triumph in the race for Richard Johnson.
His trainer, Colin Tizzard, knows how to win the race with successes in 2016 and 2015.
Favourite Might Bite has plenty of question marks, especially after his fifth (last) place run at Haydock last time out.
Waiting Patiently also has a number of trends to overcome. Next best after the Gold Cup hero could be Bristol De Mai.
15:40 KEMPTON
TOP PICK: ERICK LE ROUGE
Second choice: Divin Bere
ERICK LE ROUGE can bring up a hat-trick with victory in this Handicap Hurdle.
At his age, the 10 lbs rise is fair and he’s progressive enough to cope.
Jockey Chester Williams will ease his weight burden with a 7 lbs claim.
This will be the furthest he has travelled, but his breeding and running style suggests he’ll cope.
