Andrew Balding: I've got 7 runners in action on Saturday
The Betway ambassador previews his runners from Ascot, Newmarket, Wolverhampton and Paris Longchamp ahead of a busy day.
Morando goes for the Cumberland Lodge (15:30) and seems in the form of his life. We’re very happy with him and with more rain forecast, it’ll only help his chances. Obviously Logician will be very tough to beat, but our lad has everything in his favour.
Alounak seems in good form at home and while he has some good course and distance in the Hardwicke earlier in the season, I do think he’ll struggle to beat Morando on this ground.
Be More will absolutely love the soft ground (14:10). She’s won at the track over a mile and I don’t think a mile-and-a-quarter will be a problem for her.
She got outpaced at a vital stage at Chester last time out, but this track will suit her much more and I think she’s got every chance.
Inclyne (15:20) is stepping up in trip and it’s something we’ve been dying to do. She ran very well at Newbury and was doing her best work late on. The question mark is trying the extra distance on soft ground, but most of her family loved soft ground, so we’re hopeful she will cope well.
Auria (15:55) is a half-sister to Beat The Bank and Chil Chil and we’re looking forward to getting her started. Whatever happens, she’ll improve for the run and is the type to improve with more racing, too. If she handled the conditions, she could run into a place.
Spanish Angel is having his first run on the all-weather (19:30). He likes fast ground on the turf, so I don’t think it’ll be an issue for him. He’s a decent animal on his day and I think six furlongs around a bend will suit him well.
Calcutta Cup runs in the very valuable sales race over in France (14:50).
This has always been his aim and we’ve managed to get Frankie Dettori to ride, too. There’s prize money down to eighth, so we’d be very hopeful of coming away with something.
