Andrew Balding Betway blog: Goodwood, Windsor runners 27 28 08 22

The Betway ambassador previews his 11 runners at Newmarket, Goodwood and Windsor on a busy weekend

Fast Trek {ODDS:989183820:SP} (13:35 Newmarket) is having his first career start. He’s really progressed in the last month and I’m looking forward to getting him out now that the rain has fallen.

Oo De Lally {ODDS:989180082:13/2} (14:25 Goodwood) is another who has been padded up and waiting to bat for a while. He loves soft ground and should relish the conditions.

But it’s difficult for horses who have been kept on the boil for so long, it can cause complications in itself. He seems in good form, though, and always runs his heart out.

Chasseral‘s {ODDS:989197026:SP} (16:30 Windsor) form has actually worked out quite well from her two starts to date. We’ve given her some time since her previous run and if she runs to the ability she’s shown us at home, she has a very strong chance of getting off the mark. We’re putting the hood on her as she has a tendency to be a bit keen.

City Streak {ODDS:989180031:SP} (16:45 Goodwood) has been very consistent this year. He’s a horse very much for next year and one we’ll look forward to but he’s in good form and can well again here.

Secret Shadow {ODDS:989180038:SP} (17:20 Goodwood) is another one who has been waiting for this ground. She was disappointing in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock last time but does have good course form at Goodwood and I think she’ll run well.

Groundbreaker {ODDS:989192122:SP} (18:05 Windsor) is running in a listed race so has a little to find at the weights, but I do think he’s better with give in the ground. It’s a good race but I think he has a live chance.

Achelois {ODDS:989192102:SP} (18:35 Windsor) won well last time. She’s a high-class filly who should be there or thereabouts, but we are going to keep an eye on the conditions.

Ndaawi (13:15 Goodwood) is a lovely horse who ran well first time out. I hope he’d step up on that and be competitive here.

Fivethousandtoone (13:50 Goodwood) was caught out in a trappy race over 7f last time. This drop back to 6f will be a help and if he runs to his previous run at Salisbury, which was excellent, then he shouldn’t be far away.

Happy Power (15:35 Goodwood) loves Goodwood. He ran stellar race in the Lennox last time and you’d have to think this is as good a chance as he’d had for some time.

Speak (16:10 Goodwood) has done nothing wrong in both starts this year. She is on a mark and should be competitive.
