Favourite Kloud Gate hails from the stable of Gary Moore, who has won this race three times in the last 25 years.
The horse is seeking a hat-trick after easy wins in a couple of handicap hurdles. He’s up in the weights here, but should still give a good account of himself.
However, my selection is from the stable of Peter Bowen.
His LORD NAPIER fits the profile of recent winners of the race and should take all the beating having been stepped up in trip to a more suitable 2m 5f.

Second choice: Ultragold {ODDS:365227532:20/1}
They jump 22 fences in this wide-open handicap chase, and it should be a thrilling spectacle.
Some old National Hunt favourites line up in a race that will take some winning.
Last year’s victor Milansbar returns under a female rider, but this time Gina Andrews picks up where Bryony Frost left off.
Last-time-out winner COGRY makes more appeal for the Nigel Twiston-Davies stable. He’s been running well of late and can improve on his second place in this contest 12 months ago.

Another staying handicap chase, but this time back at Kempton.
A smaller field should mean a nicer passage for the runners as they negotiate 18 fences at the Sunbury track.
I’ll chance another Peter Bowen horse here, with MINELLA DADDY expected to return to form after a few poor runs.
At his best he is on a very lenient mark at a nice price.

Second choice: Keeper Hill {ODDS:365560705:11/2}
This race hasn’t had a winning favourite over the last decade, and an average winning SP of just over 8/1.
It will also pay to focus on the five runners who are aged eight or younger, with no winner outside that age bracket in the same period.
PERFECT MAN has the assistance of Aidan Coleman and ticks a lot of boxes.
He’s run badly in races of this type in his last two runs, but those are worth forgiving in a slightly weaker race.
