Discover the Club World Cup teams competing in 2025, including qualified teams, notable absences, and what to expect from the tournament.
The first 32-team FIFA Club World Cup will be held in the United States this summer, with clubs from across the globe heading Stateside for the revamped competition.
The make-up of the participating clubs was determined by a four-year period from 2021 to 2024, with each federation receiving an allotted number of places.
UEFA were awarded 12 slots, CONMEBOL six, and the AFC, CAF and CONCACAF four each. The Oceania Football Confederation received one invitation and the host association, the USSF, were also allowed to nominate one participant.
Here we break down the list of the 32 clubs set to compete in the United States between June 14th and July 13th. Read on for the full list, and make sure to check out our Club World Cup odds page for all the latest offers, markets and specials.

Breakdown by continent
Although there are some notable teams missing the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, the field of clubs taking part is still incredibly strong. Here is how the full list of clubs is broken down by continent.
Europe
Twelve European teams will head across the Atlantic this summer, headed by the three winners of the Champions League between 2021 and 2024.
Real Madrid were crowned European champions in 2022 and last year and are joined by 2023 Champions League winners Manchester City and Chelsea, who beat the Citizens in the 2021 European Cup final.
This season’s Champions League finalists Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan head the list of the nine other European participants who qualified courtesy of their position on UEFA’s four-year ranking.
Bundesliga pair Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will also be on the plane to the US and Juventus will join Inter as Serie A’s two representatives.
Atletico Madrid will also be at the tournament and a four-pronged Iberian challenge is completed by Portuguese powerhouses Benfica and Porto.
Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg were 18th on UEFA’s four-year ranking list but gained their spot in Europe’s nominated dozen due to restrictions on the number of participants (two) allowed from any one nation.
South America
Brazilian clubs have dominated South American football in recent seasons, providing the last six winners of the Copa Libertadores, the continent’s equivalent of the Champions League.
Botafogo, Fluminense, Palmeiras and Flamengo are the last four winners of the Copa and as such will take their place in this summer’s Club World Cup.
They will be joined by South American royalty in Argentinian pair Boca Juniors and River Plate, who were the next-best finishers on the CONMEBOL four-year rankings.
North and Central America
Mexican side Monterrey were the first CONCACAF side to book their place at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with victory in the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League.
They will be joined by compatriots Pachuca, who won the rebranded CONCACAF Champions Cup last season, but their predecessors, Club Leon, will not be taking part in the United States.
FIFA determined in March that Leon did not meet regulations on multi-club ownership as, like Pachuca, they are also owned by Grupo Pachuca, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld FIFA’s ruling earlier this month.
Leon’s place will be taken by MLS side Los Angeles FC, who beat Mexican side Club America in a one-off playoff tie on 31 May.
There are two definite MLS representatives. Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami received the host association’s pick after winning the 2024 MLS Supporters’ Shield while Seattle Sounders claimed their place after winning the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League.
Africa
Perennial Egyptian champions Al Ahly will be in the USA thanks to winning three of the last four CAF Champions League titles.
Morocco’s Wydad AC are the only side to have broken Al Ahly’s continental dominance in the last four years and qualified as 2021-22 African champions.
The two remaining places awarded to CAF went to Esperance de Tunis of Tunisia and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
Asia
The quartet heading to the tournament from Asia are also from different nations.
Asian Champions League winners Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds and Emirati outfit Al Ain are joined by South Korean champions Ulsan HD, who were the best-ranked eligible side in the AFC rankings.
Oceania
The 32-strong field is rounded out by the sole participant from Oceania.
While the winners of other confederations’ flagship tournaments in the qualifying period all received a ticket to the Club World Cup, only the highest-ranked winners of the last four editions of the OFC Champions League got the nod.
The decision was made slightly easier as New Zealand’s Auckland City won that competition in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and they added a fourth continental crown on the spin this year for good measure.
