We Are West Ham charity bet season review 2020-21 Premier League

Will, James and Tom from the We Are West Ham podcast raised more than £12,000 for charity this season through their weekly #BetYourWay selections.

The 2020/2021 Premier League season came to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday afternoon.

After 38 fixtures, three West Ham fans, Will Pugh, James Jones and Tom Edwards from the We Are West Ham podcast have successfully managed to raise over £12,000 through their weekly #BetYourWay selections, which is to be split between their three chosen charities. Will, James and Tom raised £6,127.50 between them, which Betway have matched to give a grand total of £12,435.

It only took until week four for all of the lads to get off the mark with their selections, with Betway overruling VAR to pay out on Will and Tom’s selections, which narrowly missed out. James, who had winning prediction himself in week four, also followed up with a winning bet in week five.

There were many close calls throughout the season as the three fans “hit the woodwork” with some speculative efforts, but it was James who topped the lot with the biggest priced winner of the campaign, all thanks to a fantastic 40/1 winning #BetYourWay on West Ham v Leicester. He predicted both teams to score, Jesse Lingard to have 3+ shots on target and Jarrod Bowen to score anytime.

Speaking to Betway about his 40/1 winner, James said: “It was a real pleasure to raise such a huge sum of money for DT38 this season. I was surprised as anyone that I managed to land a 40/1 shot, especially with my track record previous to that! It’s been a great season and we’re looking forward to the next already.”

It was a case of lightning striking twice for Will, whose #BetYourWay prediction of West Ham to win, both teams to score and Angelo Ogbonna to score anytime landed on two occasions this season – once at 25/1 against Aston Villa and again on the penultimate game of the season, away at West Brom at 20/1.

Reflecting on this achievement, Will said: “I was absolutely thrilled to see Angelo pop up with a goal a couple of times this season. We’ve been excellent – and very dangerous – from set-pieces this year and I’m just so glad to see my predictions converted into cash for the Bobby Moore Fund, a charity who do amazing work and who are very close to my heart.”

There was an additional winner this season as podcast guest, The Ribman, managed to land a 22/1 bet when the Hammers beat Burnley in week 18. The Ribman’s prediction was West Ham to win 1-0, Michail Antonio to score anytime and over 8.5 corners in the match.

The three fans did exceptionally well this season and Betway are proud to be able to help support these three great charities.
