Charity #BetYourWay: West Ham v Newcastle football tips
For every West Ham game this season, three well-known Hammers fans will give their football tips to try and win money for charity.
We've brought together three Hammers fans from the We Are West Ham podcast who will provide #BetYourWay football tips for every West Ham game in the Premier League this season in an attempt to win money for a charity that is close to their hearts.
The podcast is run by three Hammers fans: Will Pugh, James Jones and Tom Edwards.
We will place a £50 bet on each of their selections, with all profits donated to the charity of their choice. This year, the lads will be donating to Isla’s Fight, DT38 and Bobby Moore Fund.
The We Are West Ham podcast was born out of a live Hammers radio show that James Jones and Will Pugh used to broadcast to the nation.
New boy Tom Edwards joined the team last season as We Are West Ham continue to deliver engaging features, well-connected journalists, and famous guests from East London and beyond. Come on you Irons.
The Hammers welcome Newcastle to the London Stadium for their opening game of the season:
Will Pugh: Both teams to score, over 2.5 goals, Callum Wilson to score anytime
Will says: "Having cried because of the noise when West Ham opened the scoring at my first ever game, aged five - West Ham 2-2 Everton in April 1997 - I swiftly put that behind me, was delighted when Paul Kitson grabbed the second and have been hooked ever since.
"I am playing for the Bobby Moore Fund this season because my dad had - and thankfully got rid of - bowel cancer a few years ago and it's a cause close to my heart."
James Jones: West Ham win or draw, Jarrod Bowen to score anytime, over 8.5 total corners
James says: "I have been a West Ham season ticket holder for as long as I can remember, with my first game being in 1994 - a 4-0 win over Norwich. That game made me think supporting the Hammers was going to be fun, so I've felt cheated ever since!
"I'm choosing to represent DT38 as my charity because a close friend of mine suffered with testicular cancer a few years ago and, while he has since beaten it, I really think more can be done to raise awareness and to remind men to check themselves regularly."
Tom Edwards: Draw, both teams to score, Michail Antonio to score anytime
Tom says: "I'm a lifelong fan like my We Are West Ham friends but, as the baby of the group, I'm not quite as scarred. I was blessed to be the only one of us in the stadium when Michail Antonio fired West Ham to the first win for an away team at Tottenham's new ground.
"I am playing for Isla's Fight this season as little Isla Caton is an absolute hero and her cause means so much to so many West Ham fans. Having had people close to me affected by cancer, like so many others, it is an issue that means a lot to me."
