Guardiola can end City reign in style
City missed out on the Premier League title and Arsenal are basking in their top-flight success, so, ordinarily you could expect the Citizens’ level to drop on the final day of the campaign, with their main prize now out of reach.
However, Sunday’s final Premier League fixture of the campaign against Aston Villa is also set to mark the departure of manager Pep Guardiola and City will surely want to send their legendary boss off in style.
The exit of one of the greatest managers in football is a blow, but it will likely be a motivator for City’s players and supporters.
That aside, the Citizens have won 11 of their last 13 Etihad matches, with the only loss a 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Villa have enjoyed an excellent campaign, but there is likely to be some hangover from Wednesday night’s Europa League final in Istanbul and they have failed to win any of their last six Premier League away games.
Leg 1: Manchester City to win @ 1/3
Goals to flow at the Etihad
The Citizens have scored at least two goals in 12 of their last 13 games at the Etihad and the Citizens have hit 39 strikes in their previous 13 home matches.
Guardiola’s men have seen 10 of their last 11 matches in Manchester go over 2.5 goals, while the Villans have hit the net 13 times in their last four contests.
The breaks will be off in Guardiola’s last contest and Unai Emery’s men are likely to enjoy playing with freedom after lifting the Europa League trophy on Wednesday night.
Leg 2: Over 2.5 goals @ 3/10
Bernardo to bow out in style
Bernardo Silva will leave City this summer and it could be a fond farewell for the 31-year-old Portuguese ace.
The midfielder has hit only three goals this season, but he may well be used in a more advanced role in his final City appearances and there is also a chance that the Portuguese could be handed penalty-taking duties.
Either way, City are scoring bags of goals at home and Silva looks like a value play to find the net.
Leg 3: Bernardo Silva to score at any time 17/4
