Both Manchester City and Tottenham made impressive starts to the new season and Spurs will not be overawed by Saturday's trip to the Etihad having won 4-0 there last season
Two teams who won on the opening weekend of the season meet at the Etihad Stadium (Saturday, 12:30), as Manchester City play host to Tottenham Hotspur.
The hosts started their campaign with an impressive 4-0 away win at Wolves, while Spurs claimed a 3-0 home success over Burnley.
The visitors have a good record in this fixture in recent seasons and will pose a stern test for a new-look City team.

Goals on the agenda at the Etihad
These two teams scored seven goals between them on Gameweek One and started in impressive fashion, having made changes over the summer.
Pep Guardiola has seen the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Jack Grealish move on and has brought in six new faces as he looks to remodel the squad after last season’s trophyless campaign.
Tottenham did win silverware but that wasn’t enough for Ange Postecoglu to keep his job and Thomas Frank has been asked to take Spurs forward.
Two stunning goals from Richarlison were the highlight of last Saturday’s 3-0 win over Burnley, but this is a big step up in challenge.
Spurs did claim a thumping 4-0 win at City last season and have lost on just one of their last four trips to the Etihad.
It’s also worth noting that both teams have scored in three of those four matches, with four or more goals in each of those meetings.

Romero facing Haaland test
It’s been some month for Spurs centre-back Christian Romero, who has been handed the captain’s armband and signed a new four-year contract.
The Argentinian continues to grow a strong partnership with Mickey van de Ven, but it’s unclear whether Frank will play with three centre-halves or a flat back four.
Either way, Romero – who was sent off against City in February 2023 – will have his hands full trying to keep a rejuvenated Erling Haaland quiet, following his brace at Wolves last week.

Silva can still pull the strings
There was a lot of talk this summer suggesting Bernardo Silva could leave City, but the Portuguese star looks to have a key role to play in Guardiola’s new-look squad.
The 31-year-old was handed the captain’s armband at Molineux and was integral in City winning, with the midfielder looking refreshed.
Silva now has some younger legs around him in the middle of the park and that enables him to have more of an impact in the final third.
The former Monaco man scored six goals in all competitions last season, but Saturday’s formation suggests he can chip in with his fair share this term.
