Premier League Tips: 28/1 Bet Builder for Liverpool v Manchester City

Anfield is the setting for a blockbuster Premier League encounter on Sunday, when Liverpool welcome Manchester City to Anfield.

The two most successful teams in the Premier League over the last decade clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, when Liverpool face Manchester City at Anfield in a tantalising meeting.

Liverpool trail league leaders Arsenal by 14 points and are almost certainly going to lose their Premier League title, but the Citizens are only six points off the pace and will feel they can catch the Gunners.

We have suggested a four-leg Bet Builder to consider which will return at 28/1, if successful.

Liverpool v Manchester City Bet Builder Tips

  • Liverpool to win @ 11/8

  • Anytime Goalscorer – Hugo Ekitike @ 6/5

  • Over 4.5 goals @ 16/5

  • To be Booked – Rodri @ 3/1

Resurgent Liverpool can continue revival

The smiles have returned to Liverpool fans over the last week or so, with a 6-0 Champions League crushing of Qarabag followed by a 4-1 Premier League destruction of Newcastle United.

The Reds produced one of the best performances of their season against the Magpies and the cooling in the relationship between manager Arne Slot and unsettled veteran Mohamed Salah may have been the catalyst to the success.

Since Salah returned from the African Cup of Nations, Slot has welcomed the forward back into the side, and the Egyptian has been looking determined.

With City missing key defenders, Liverpool’s forward line can deliver a third home victory in a row.

Leg 1: Liverpool to win @ 11/8

Fabulous Frenchman to terrorise Citizens

When Liverpool forked out a British-record transfer fee of £125m for Alexander Isak in the summer, the Sweden international was expected to be first-choice centre forward for the Reds and the key to a successful title defence.

Instead, it has been Hugo Ekitike who has been starring up top for Arne Slot’s side. A wonderfully balanced forward with a mixture of strengths, he bagged a brace in the win over Newcastle last Saturday.

That was the Frenchman’s third goal in his last two appearances and he looks capable of getting on the scoresheet for the third match in a row.

Leg 2 – Anytime goalscorer – Hugo Ekitike @ 6/5

Goals should flow in Anfield blockbuster

Liverpool’s last three games have featured five goals or more, while City’s last two away fixtures have each seen four goals.

Given City’s need for three points – a draw would probably not satisfy Pep Guardiola because his team trail Arsenal by so much – a positive approach can be expected from the visitors.

Liverpool appear to be getting back to their best, while City will throw everything at the home defence in a bid to stay in the title race, so a high-scoring match seems likely.

Leg 3 – Over 4.5 goals @ 16/5

Rodri may be overwhelmed in midfield battle

If Liverpool surge forward in the same fashion that they did against Newcastle, City’s defence will come under huge pressure.

With the likes of John Stones and Josko Gvardiol out injured, and Ruben Dias lacking match fitness, the visiting defence will require greater protection from their midfield.

If City are to succeed, a massive performance is probably required from Rodri. The Spaniard will be stretched and could easily pick up a booking.

Four of his last five City games in all competitions have seen him cautioned and another card could be heading his way.

Leg 4 – To be Booked – Rodri @ 3/1
