Premier League tips: Best bets for Arsenal v Aston Villa

Adrian Mills' best bets for Sunday's clash at the Emirates include a win for the Gunners with goals at both ends.

Arsenal were given a major boost in the title race as Liverpool drew with Manchester United last weekend, but the Gunners will need to be close to perfect until the end of the season if they are to lift their first Premier League title in 20 years.

They face Aston Villa, who have exceeded expectations this season and currently sit fifth, trailing Tottenham in the race for the top four on goal difference.

Arsenal to win entertaining match-up

Arsenal have made a habit of winning at home this season and as a result will have been disappointed to draw 2-2 with Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the Emirates this week.

The Gunners should be able to bounce back against Aston Villa however, who have seen their form take a downturn in recent weeks.

Unai Emery’s side have one win from their last five league games and have suffered 4-1 and 4-0 defeats in that run, to Manchester City and Tottenham respectively.

The Villans also let a 2-0 lead slip against Brentford last weekend, eventually rallying to draw 3-3 after going 3-2 down.

Their backline has been much more porous in the last month or so than it was previously and that leaves them vulnerable against an impressive Arsenal line-up.

The Gunners have won 13 of their last 16 home games in the league and are fancied to extend that run with another victory.

However, both teams have found the net in eight of Villa’s last 10 Premier League away outings and they should be able to get on the scoresheet again, albeit in defeat.

Odegaard to find the net

Martin Odegaard has been the key to much of Arsenal’s success this season and has upped his goalscoring rate compared to usual.

The Gunners captain has 10 goals in all competitions, only Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka have more, and the Norwegian is fancied to add to his tally here.

Odegaard has two goals in his last five league games and looks a tempting price to net a crucial goal in this one.

High-scoring affair likely

Villa have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in the Premier League this season, no team has had more games go over 3.5 goals than the Villans.

A repeat of that looks to be on the cards as they visit the top scorers in the division, Arsenal, who have netted 75 times in 31 outings.

Both teams can contribute to what should be an entertaining matchup.
