Football tips for Tuesday’s third-round EFL Cup matches

Back our 21/1 accumulator that is made up of football tips from EFL Cup third round games.

Burton to win or draw v Burnley

Burton beat Sunderland 2-1 last time out and have lost just one of their last five matches in all competitions.

The Brewers have already knocked out Aston Villa in the previous round and have won five of their last seven matches in this tournament, with their only defeats in that time coming against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Burnley have lost five of their last six EFL Cup matches and, despite picking up their first league win of the season over the weekend, should be laid on Tuesday night.

Middlesbrough to beat Preston

Preston lost 3-2 to Sheffield United on Saturday to make it three defeats on the spin and just one win in their last nine matches in all competitions.

Alex Neil’s side have been beaten by strugglers Reading and were held to a 2-2 draw with Bolton in their last two outings at Deepdale.

Middlesbrough are second in the Championship and have lost just one of their 11 games in all competitions this season. They are worth backing at such a generous price.

Fulham to beat Millwall

Fulham came from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Watford last Saturday and have lost just one of their last five matches in all competitions, against Manchester City.

The Cottagers’ 2-0 win over Exeter in the previous round was their seventh victory in eight EFL Cup matches against lower-league opposition.

Millwall have lost three of their last four matches, including a defeat against out-of-form Swansea, and should be backed to lose again at this side of evens.

Norwich to beat Wycombe

Norwich beat in-form QPR 1-0 on Saturday, ending their hosts’ five-match unbeaten run.

The Canaries have won four and drawn one of their last five matches in all competitions, including a 1-0 win against Middlesbrough and a 3-1 victory over Cardiff in the previous round.

They are a good bet to win against Wycombe, who haven’t beaten a side from a higher division in their last 13 attempts in this competition.
