Back our 15/1 five-fold, which is made up of football tips from the opening round of the 2017/18 EFL Cup.
After picking four winners out of five in the Championship, League One and League Two on Saturday, Will Rook is back with his best football tips for Tuesday’s EFL Cup matches.
Barnsley to beat Blackpool – {ODDS:290085201:7/5}
Barnsley are top of League One after starting the season with back-to-back wins.
The Tykes have scored six goals and are yet to concede, and did not face a shot on target against Bradford on Saturday.
Managerless Blackpool were beaten 2-1 at home to Portsmouth last weekend and haven’t won an EFL Cup game in eight seasons.
Blackburn to beat Carlisle – {ODDS:290073032:5/6}
Carlisle earned their first point of season with a 2-2 draw at home to Northampton on Saturday, having lost 3-1 at Exeter the previous week.
The Cumbrians have been beaten on four of the last six occasions that they have faced Championship opposition in the EFL Cup.
Blackburn have drawn their first two games back in the second tier, but look good value to progress within 90 minutes on Tuesday.
Leeds to beat Bolton – {ODDS:290077765:4/6}
Leeds continued their 100 per cent start under Marcelo Bielsa at the weekend, following up their 3-1 victory over Stoke by hammering of Derby 4-1.
United’s pressing should trouble Bolton’s immobile centre-half pairing of David Wheater and Mark Beevers.
The visitors, who let a two-goal lead slip at home to Bristol City last Saturday, have only once progressed beyond this stage of the EFL Cup once in the last four seasons.
Derby to beat Oldham – {ODDS:290068944:7/10}
Derby should get back to winning ways against League Two opponents Oldham after their 4-1 defeat against Leeds at the weekend.
The Rams took three points from their opening league match against Reading and have won six of their last seven EFL Cup matches against lower-league opposition.
Oldham, who had to rely on a late penalty against Forest Green to earn their first point since relegation at the weekend, have made it past the first round of the EFL Cup just once in the last nine years.
Aston Villa to beat Yeovil – {ODDS:290087321:4/7}
Aston Villa have won both of their opening two matches in the Championship and, even with a much-changed starting XI, should breeze through this one.
Yeovil have been eliminated from the EFL Cup at this stage in three of the last four seasons.
That should continue on Tuesday, given that they will be without at least five first-team players due to injury and suspension.
