Here are Tom Bowles‘ football betting tips for Chelsea v Tottenham on Thursday night.
Spurs to win or draw and both teams to score
Chelsea’s poor performance at Arsenal last weekend and Tottenham’s injury problems makes this game hard to call. However, the fact that Spurs lead on aggregate could be decisive, as they’ve got something to hold on to.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won the last three meetings between the two sides and showed impressive resolve to beat Fulham on Sunday, so I fancy to get a result that’ll take them through to the final.
It’s worth adding both teams to score to this bet, too, as that has been the case in three of the last four fixtures between this pair.
Christian Eriksen to score
He’s been operating in a deeper role recently, but Eriksen’s long-range shooting ability means he is always worth backing to score. He netted a brilliant goal at Stamford Bridge last season and is likely to be on set-piece duty – including penalties – in the absence of Harry Kane.
Harry Winks to be booked
Winks has been booked five times this season, including in the first leg of this tie, and is having to play every game due to Spurs’ injury troubles in midfield. It’d be no surprise if he picks up another card against their London rivals, who are likely to dominate possession.
