Football Tips: Saturday’s BTTS 5-fold

This Saturday's BTTS 5-fold focuses on matches from the FA Cup fourth round and the Championship.

The FA Cup fourth round headlines a busy Saturday of football, with plenty of Championship action also taking place, as well as three games in the Scottish Premiership.

We have picked five games that are likely to see both teams score and combined them into an appealing 14/1 acca.

Saturday BTTS 5-fold

  • Norwich vs West Brom – BTTS @ 4/6

  • Port Vale vs Bristol City – BTTS @ 4/5

  • Portsmouth vs Sheffield United – BTTS @ 3/4

  • Preston North End vs Watford – BTTS @ 17/20

  • Liverpool vs Brighton – BTTS @ 11/20

Pays 14/1

Norwich vs West Brom (Saturday, 3pm)

Only two teams in the Championship have conceded more away goals than West Brom, so Norwich fans will be licking their lips at the prospect of the Midlanders coming to Carrow Road on Saturday for an FA Cup fourth round tie.

Norwich have kept a clean sheet in only one of their last five home games, though, and they were beaten by West Brom when this fixture was played at Carrow Road in the Championship in October.

Port Vale vs Bristol City (Saturday, 3pm)

Port Vale players and fans get some blessed relief from their League One struggles on Saturday – and the Valiants can reward their suffering followers with an FA Cup goal or two.

Vale have scored in three of their last five games – and on three occasions this season they have scored five goals in a single match – so the home side can get on the scoresheet. Bristol City scored five goals against Watford in the last round of the FA Cup and scored three goals at Hull in the Championship last Saturday.

Portsmouth vs Sheffield United (Saturday, 3pm)

Only two teams in the Championship have conceded more away goals than Sheffield United and relegation-threatened Portsmouth will fancy their chances of penetrating the Yorkshiremen’s defence at Fratton Park.

Portsmouth have scored in their last six home games, including against Arsenal in the FA Cup, and Pompey romped to a 3-0 victory over West Brom last Saturday. Sheffield United have scored in their last four games.

Preston North End vs Watford (Saturday, 3pm)

Positive intent may be the key reason why this Championship fixture ends up with both teams getting on the scoresheet. Watford are unlikely to be satisfied with a point as they bid to improve on a surprisingly lowly position in the league table, so the Hornets should attack.

Preston got back to winning ways against Portsmouth last Saturday, so the home fans will be demanding attacking intent from the Lilywhites too.

Liverpool vs Brighton (Saturday, 8pm)

Liverpool have been impressive since Mo Salah returned from the African Cup of Nations and his relationship with Arne Slot appears to have greatly improved. With harmony at Anfield, results have improved, and the Reds are looking much like their old selves.

It is difficult to see Brighton keeping a clean sheet in their FA Cup trip to Liverpool, but the Seagulls have enough attacking ability to get on the scoresheet. Brighton have scored in five of their last six away games.
