After nailing four out of four last week, we're back with a 12/1 five-fold with games from Bergamo to Barcelona.
Wolfsburg v Borussia Dortmund – {ODDS:167368110:1/2}
The Bundesliga returns this weekend and, with it, some old BTTS favourites.
Dortmund were among Europe’s most open sides last season, particularly away from home, where they managed to keep just one Bundesliga clean sheet.
Peter Bosz’s side are without their two best left-backs and their first-choice holding midfielder, so it’s unlikely they’ll manage to keep out Wolfsburg and Mario Gomez, who bagged 16 league goals last season.
Dortmund did score eight across the two league meetings between these sides last year, though, so there should be goals at both ends on Saturday.
Lyon v Bordeaux – {ODDS:178902768:3/5}
Lyon were regulars of this column last season, and with good reason.
Both teams scored in 22 of their 38 league games, the joint-highest proportion in Ligue 1.
They scored three or more in nine of their last 12 home games last term, but also conceded eight in their last four and were leaky at the back all season.
Considering Bordeaux scored in all but four of their away games in 2016/17, a clean sheet for either side looks unlikely.
Atalanta v Roma – {ODDS:173607520:3/5}
Atalanta emerged as one of Italy’s best attacking sides last season, scoring in all but five of their games in all competitions and all but two at home.
Roma, meanwhile, scored more away goals than every side in Serie A except Napoli, and bagged three or more in each of their last five on their travels.
Both teams scored in each of the Giallorossi’s last seven games of the season, and that trend should continue to start the new campaign.
Inter Milan v Fiorentina – {ODDS:173609078:3/4}
Fiorentina won 5-4 when these sides last met in April, and another cracker is likely on Sunday.
Inter were prolific at home last season, only failing to score against Napoli.
They also managed just four clean sheets at the Giuseppe Meazza in the league, and none in their last seven.
Considering Fiorentina conceded more goals than any other side in the top eight, this looks like a banker.
Barcelona v Real Betis – {ODDS:171981375:19/20}
Don’t expect this to become a regular tactic, but backing Barcelona to concede at the Nou Camp is a wise tactic this weekend.
The club are in relatively poor shape after Neymar’s exit, and looked particularly shaky at the back against Real Madrid in the Super Cup.
Barca have kept just two clean sheets in their last 10 home games, and will be without Gerard Pique on Sunday when they take on Betis.
Los Verdiblancos have been tipped as potential La Liga dark horses this season – just ask our own Adam Drury – and are great value to get on the scoresheet.
