Sunday Betting Guide: Our writers’ 5 best football tips 21 08 22

Adam Drury provides his football tips from Sunday’s action across Europe.

BTTS in Angers v Brest (14:00)

BTTS has landed in three of the four games featuring these sides so far this season.

Angers drew 2-2 with Auxerre last week, while Brest’s two matches have finished 3-2 and 1-1.

Three of those four games have also seen both teams record an xG of more than 1.

Toulouse to beat Lorient (14:00)

Toulouse have made a tremendous start to the Ligue 1 season, holding Nice to a 1-1 draw before dismantling Troyes 3-0 away from home last weekend.

It is very early days, but Philippe Montanier’s side currently rank second to PSG for xPoints in Ligue 1.

Lorient beat Rennes 1-0 in their opener, but were clearly second-best and are worth backing against here.

Newcastle v Man City half-time/full-time: Man City/Man City (16:30)

This is a neat way of getting Man City on side without backing them to just win the match at very short odds.

The bet has landed in six of City’s last eight league matches, including in both of their opening two of this season.

Newcastle were outplayed by Brighton last weekend and lost 4-0 and 5-0 in their two games against City last season, with this bet landing in both.

Napoli to beat Monza & over 2.5 goals (17:30)

Napoli lit up the opening weekend of Serie A, hammering Verona 5-2 away from home.

Another thrashing can be expected for the visit of Monza, who lost 2-1 to Torino last weekend.

The Serie A new boys conceded an xG of 3.14 in that match and will surely give up several big chances here.

BTTS & over 2.5 goals in Atalanta v AC Milan (19:45)

The fourth- and fifth-top scorers from Serie A last season meet on the second weekend of the new campaign.

Milan began their Serie A defence with a 4-2 win over Udinese last week, having scored in all but four league games last season.

They travel to Atalanta, who won 2-0 at Sampdoria last week and lost this fixture 3-2 last term.
