Saturday Betting Guide: Our writers’ best football tips 20 08 22

Will Rook and Adam Drury provide their football tips for Saturday’s matches.

Freiburg to beat Stuttgart (14:30)

Freiburg were beaten 3-1 at home to Dortmund last weekend, but started the season with a 4-0 win at Augsburg.

Christian Streich’s side were one of the success stories of the Bundesliga last season, securing a Europa League spot after flirting with the top four for much of the campaign. They can continue that impressive form here.

Stuttgart stayed up on goal difference last term and have started this season with back-to-back draws.

Crystal Palace to beat Aston Villa (15:00)

Crystal Palace are definitely due their first win of the season having competed well in defeat to Arsenal and taken a point from Anfield on Monday.

Patrick Vieira’s side look comfortable in defence, with Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi impressing, and can unleash an exciting attacking trio of Ebere Eze, Michael Olise and Wilfried Zaha here.

Aston Villa unconvincingly beat Everton 2-1 last time out having lost 2-0 at Bournemouth on the opening weekend.

Nottingham Forest to win or draw v Everton & under 4.5 goals (15:00)

Nottingham Forest beat West Ham 1-0 last time out and can take at least another point from Everton.

The hosts have scored one goals in two games so far and look toothless without a natural centre-forward to call upon.

This looks set to be a low-scoring game, and Forest are better placed to get something from it.

BTTS & over 2.5 goals in Union Berlin v RB Leipzig (17:30)

RB Leipzig’s three games in all competitions this season have ended 3-5, 1-1 and 2-2.

This bet has landed, meanwhile, in five of the last six meetings between these two teams.

Union’s last three results have been 2-1, 3-1 and 0-0, so there is reason to expect goals on Saturday.

Real Madrid to beat Celta Vigo & under 4.5 goals (21:00)

This was a winning bet in last Sunday’s Betting Guide and looks a solid price again.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have now won 14 of their last 20 league away games, with under 4.5 landing in 16 of those 20 matches.

They won this fixture 2-1 last season.
