Here are Will Rook‘s weekend football tips to help you on your way.
Port Vale to beat Cheltenham
Cheltenham have been thrown into the relegation mix-up after a run of six defeats in their last seven matches.
Wade Elliott’s side have lost to bottom-four teams Morecambe and Forest Green as part of that sequence.
Port Vale have won four and lost four of their last eight, but the last three of those defeats came against promotion candidates Derby, Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday, while they beat table toppers Plymouth as part of that run in December.
Shrewsbury to beat Forest Green
Bottom-of-the-league Forest Green replaced manager Ian Burchnall with Duncan Ferguson in midweek after a run of form that has left them four points from League One safety.
Rovers have taken one point from their last seven matches and have managed just one away win all season.
Shrewsbury have won three straight matches – two of which by a margin of four goals – to take them within five points of the play-off positions.
Stockport to beat Wimbledon
Stockport come into this having won eight and drawn two of their last 12 league games.
Dave Challinor’s side are 10th in League Two, but look the most likely among the challengers to break into the play-off pack. They have conceded just one goal in their last six matches.
Wimbledon have won one of their last seven in all competitions and have scored just 29 league goals – fewer than each of the 12 above them in the table.
Colchester to beat Hartlepool
Colchester have lifted themselves out of relegation trouble following a run of four victories and a draw in their last seven league games.
The U’s have taken points off promotion hopefuls Swindon and Salford in that run and look well-priced to take another three points here.
Hartlepool are teetering two points above the League Two relegation zone and have lost 10 of their last 15 league games.
Carlisle to beat Rochdale
Bottom-of-the-league Rochdale lost 2-0 at third-bottom Hartlepool last time out and look like they are on the way to non-league.
Jim Bentley’s side have lost seven and drawn two of their last 10 matches and have the worst home record in League Two, having lost nine out of 13.
Fourth-place Carlisle have climbed to within a point of Northampton in the final automatic promotion spot after winning four of their last five.
