EFL football tips for Saturday 02 01 21

Had you placed a £10 stake on Will Rook’s football tips every week this season, you would be £290 in profit.

Brentford to beat Bristol City

Brentford climbed to second in the Championship following their 2-1 victory over fellow promotion contenders Bournemouth in midweek.

That result extended the Bees’ unbeaten run to 16 games in all competitions, while it was also their fourth straight win.

Bristol City were beaten 2-1 at Luton last time out and have lost four of their last five.

Oxford to beat Burton

Bottom-of-the-league Burton sacked manager Jake Buxton after their 4-3 midweek defeat to relegation candidates Wigan left them four points behind second-bottom Swindon.

The Brewers have lost four on the spin and won only one of their last 22 matches in all competitions.

Oxford have won three matches in a row and are unbeaten in seven.

Salford to beat Leyton Orient

Salford come into this having taken 11 points from their last five league games.

Richie Wellens’ side have won back-to-back matches to get within three points of the automatic promotion spots in League Two.

Leyton Orient beat bottom-of-the-league Southend on Tuesday, but had lost five of their previous six matches.

Scunthorpe to beat Stevenage

Scunthorpe’s recovery after a shocking start to the season means that this feels like a big price.

Six of the Iron’s seven victories in all competitions have come in their last 12 matches, including a 2-1 win over Walsall in midweek.

Second-bottom Stevenage have won two of their last 20 in all competitions.

Carlisle to beat Walsall

Third-placed Carlisle drew 3-3 with Bolton in their last match on Boxing Day and had won four of five prior to that.

The Cumbrians have only lost four of their last 17 league games.

Walsall have lost back-to-back matches against Scunthorpe and Salford.
