EFL football tips for Boxing Day 26 12 20

Had you placed a £10 stake on Will Rook’s football tips every week this season, you would be £310 in profit.

Derby to beat Preston

Derby come into this having not played for 10 days, but are unbeaten in their last six matches.

The Rams beat Swansea 2-0 last time out and have taken 10 points in that sequence.

Preston have lost four of their last five away games in the league.

Lincoln to beat Burton

Lincoln bounced back from back-to-back defeats to hammer Northampton 4-0 last weekend.

That result means that the Imps have won three games out of three against sides currently in the relegation zone.

Bottom-of-the-league Burton are winless in five and have managed just one victory in their last 20 matches in all competitions.

Shrewsbury to beat Wigan

Shrewsbury have lost just one of their seven matches since Steve Cotterill took over as manager at the end of November.

The Shrews come into this having won three on the spin against three of the division’s current top four.

Second-bottom Wigan were thumped 5-0 by Rochdale in their last home game and have won two in 17 in all competitions.

Morecambe to beat Grimsby

Grimsby were left fifth-bottom of League Two and without a manager following their 2-1 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Bradford on Tuesday.

That was the Mariners’ ninth defeat in 12 matches in all competitions, while they are currently just six points above the relegation zone.

Morecambe are currently one point clear of eighth place following a run of four victories in their last five league games.

Oldham to beat Harrogate

Oldham beat top-of-the-league Newport 4-2 last weekend and have won five of their last seven league games.

That run has seen the Latics climb to within four points of the play-off positions.

Harrogate have fallen to within six places of the drop zone, having lost eight of their last 12 in the league.
