Betway Premier League Week 11: Lewis on fire and primed for third straight win

Adrian Lewis is in sensational form and is a great price for another victory

As we head towards the home stretch in the Betway Premier League Adrian Lewis is finding his very best form and he looks a great price to keep that up this week in Glasgow.

Jackpot had been in danger of elimination but back-to-back wins now sees him well in contention for a play-off spot. Lewis was also the star of the Players Championship events this weekend in Barnsley, winning two of them and reaching the final of the other; a tremendous achievement.

On Thursday Lewis meets Stephen Bunting who is having a steady but uninspiring debut season in the Betway Premier League. It looks very unlikely that he will trouble the top four and, given the form of his opponent, it’s also very improbable he will win this week. Back Lewis at 5/6.

The other winner in Barnsley at the weekend was Michael van Gerwen who triumphed in Saturday’s event. The Dutchman is in cracking form at the moment and it is folly to back against him in the Betway Premier League.

MVG meets Raymond van Barneveld on Thursday and although Barney has picked up some good results of late he had a very disappointing weekend in South Yorkshire. The five-time world champ is a bit up and down at the moment which is not good enough against the world number one. Mighty Mike is a must at 2/5.

Phil Taylor is doubling up this week by taking on Dave Chisnall and then Bunting, who must also make a second walk to the stage later in the evening. The Power has been far from his best of late and he is set for a mixed night in Scotland. Taylor has won just one of his last four games; compare this to Chisnall’s four straight victories and it is incredible that Chizzy is on offer at 7/4 for this one. They met just a couple of weeks ago and Chisnall, ironically, won 7-4 which is exactly the price you should take this week.

Taylor, though, will stop the rot eventually and it will probably be against Bunting who he battered 7-1 when they met earlier in this competition. The Power may be a bit unreliable at the moment but he is still a sound investment against the Bullet at 8/13.

The Scottish fans will have turned out to see one man in Glasgow and that is Gary Anderson. The Flying Scotsman is loved by his home crowd and should give them plenty to cheer against James Wade this week.

Anderson holds a great winning record against the Machine (21-11) and has prospered in their last four encounters. Wade also struggled last week, losing two matches and unfortunately had to pull out of the Barnsley events due to health issues.

Without dwelling on Wade’s health problems, he does not appear to be a sound bet at the moment and Anderson must be backed at 8/13.

Dave Chisnall to beat Phil Taylor @ 7/4

Adrian Lewis to beat Stephen Bunting @ 5/6

Gary Anderson to beat James Wade @ 8/13

Michael van Gerwen to beat Raymond van Barneveld @ 2/5

Phil Taylor to beat Stephen Bunting @ 8/13
