Adrian Lewis: ‘It’s about time I knuckle down and stamp my authority on the tournament’

With two wins from his first two matches, Adrian Lewis has made the perfect start to the 2016 Betway Premier League.

Those victories – over debutant Michael Smith and last year’s semi-finalist Dave Chisnall – have taken Jackpot to the top of the table after the first fortnight of the season.

These are heady heights indeed for Lewis, who admitted in Newcastle that he may get a nosebleed if his success continues much longer.

For despite having two World Championships to his name, the world No. 3 has historically struggled with the Premier League format.

Incredibly, he has just two play-off appearances to show for eight full seasons in the competition – with a last-four thrashing by Phil Taylor in 2008 being followed by a comprehensive defeat to Gary Anderson in the final three years later.

But this year, according to the man himself, is going to be different.

In this exclusive interview, find out exactly why Jackpot believes he has never lived up to his potential in the tournament and how he thinks he can address that underwhelming record this time around…
