Packers vs Panthers Picks & Predictions | NFL Week 8 2026

Our Packers vs Panthers betting picks for NFL Week 8 2026 include odds analysis, best bets, key matchups and picks for your same-game parlay

The Green Bay Packers enter tonight’s Thursday Night Football game, kicking off NFL Week 8, pissed off after last week’s 20-17 loss in Detroit to the Lions, where they were penalized seven times in the second half.

The Packers weren’t happy with the officiating and made their thoughts clear later.

The Panthers? They got blown out 43-13 at home by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, not exactly a Super Bowl choice in people’s futures picks.

Tonight’s game starts at 8:15 p.m. EST on Prime Video, at Lambuar Field, with clear skies and temperatures around 53 degrees F in the forecast.

The Packers have injury issues, especially on the offensive line, losing starting center Sean Rhyan and backup Jacob Monk in the Lions game. Right guard Travis Glover is also out for tonight’s game. Green Bay will also be missing linebacker Zaire Franklin (shin).

Carolina will be without OT Taylor Moton (lower leg), CB Akayleb Evans (triceps/knee), G Damien Lewis (knee), LB Jaelan Phillips (hamstring) and offensive lineman Torricelli Simpkins (ankle).

Key matchups start with Packers running back Josh Jacobs versus Carolina’s run defence, which is not good (giving up 153.2 yards per game, 5.2 yards per carry). In that blowout loss to Tampa, the Panthers gave up 258 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

Green Bay hasn’t been setting the NFL on fire on the ground (59.9 yards per game, last in the NFL).

Jacobs returned from suspension last week and rushed for 36 yards on 10 carries, averaging 3.3 yards per carry. Last year, he rushed for 929 yards, averaged 4.0 yards per carry, and scored 13 touchdowns.

Plus, there are the Green Bay offensive line injuries to consider.

Bryce Young versus the Green Bay pass rush is another key matchup. Young ranks second in the NFL with 285.3 yards per game. Green Bay, though, generates heavy pressure on opposing dropbacks without blitzing, and Young was sacked five times last week. Moton is a big loss there.

Here are my Packers vs Panthers picks.

Packers vs Panthers Betting Trends

Green Bay has gone Under in four straight games and is 2-5 against the Over/Under this season. Carolina has gone Under in all three road games.

Under head coach Matt LaFleur, the Packers are 39-25 against the spread at home since 2019, an NFL-best over that period, according to NBC Sports.

Packers vs Panthers Odds

In NFL picks at Betway, the Packers are -200 moneyline favourites, with the Panthers +165. Green Bay is giving 3.5 points (-110), while Carolina is getting 3.5 points (-110). The total is set at 47.5, with the Over at -105 and the Under at -115.

Packers vs Panthers Betting Picks

Take the clear favourite at home, at -3.5. The crowd at Lambeau will be loud, and the Panthers are coming off a blowout loss.

I also like the Under 47.5 at -115, looking at that statistical trend. Carolina scores well on average (26.5 PPG), while both defences have been leaky. Both teams have banged-up offensive lines. The Panthers’ secondary is depleted.

In NFL betting at Betway, a clean player prop is Josh Jacobs 60+ rushing yards (-115). Carolina allows the most rushing yards per game in the NFL (153). They’ve also given up a lot of rushing touchdowns.

That’s a reasonable price for Jacobs 60+ yards.

I also like Young Under 253.5 passing yards at Betway (-115). Green Bay allows just 208 passing yards per game, and keeps additional defenders in coverage, with the pressure they are able to generate without blitzing.

What about Christian Watson anytime touchdown at +140, with those cornerback injuries for the Panthers? He has six this season, but I want to think about that one. I like Jacobs 60+ rushing yards a lot more.

Packers vs Panthers Same Game Parlay

Let’s focus on passing, since Carolina’s pass defence is leaky. Jordan Love Over 1.5 passing TDs plus Tucker Kraft 40+ receiving yards, given how important a target he’s become in Green Bay’s passing attack, and Tetairoa McMillan 60+ receiving yards, since he is one of Young’s primary targets and Carolina will likely throw a lot (+280 total).
