NFL Week 8 Player Prop Picks | Sunday NFL Picks

Our NFL Week 8 player prop picks spotlight Sunday’s best bets across a full slate of games today, featuring expert analysis

The injury situation is once again front and centre, impacting NFL player prop betting entering Week 8, creating opportunities for bettors but also raising questions about workloads for others.

Tonight’s game between the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles is one example. The Eagles are without quarterback Jalen Hurts and receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, shifting more focus to tight end Dallas Goedert.

And who knows what the Eagles have in running back Saquon Barkley for tonight, impacted by that hamstring injury. He’ll start tonight but was clearly labouring Monday night against the Cowboys.

Tampa Bay receiver Emeka Egbuka is also sidelined. The Jets’ Breece Hall is questionable with a quadriceps injury. Meanwhile, quarterback Lamar Jackson returns after a month off with an ankle injury, potentially boosting receiver Zay Flowers, who’s been delivering in Jackson’s absence, and Buffalo has the second-worst pass defence in the NFL.

Give Derrick Henry the ball that game and keep Bills quarterback Josh Allen on the sideline, I say, meaning a focus on Henry props.

Here are my NFL Week 8 player prop picks.

Best NFL Week 8 Running Back Props

Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 70+ rushing yards (-115)

In NFL betting, I am looking at his 79.7 rushing yards-per-game average for the Bucs going into today’s game against the Falcons. And Atlanta has allowed the sixth-most rushing yards per game over the past three games, according to Action Network, which belies their overall stats defence-against-the-run – fourth in the NFL, 88.9 yards per game.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions, 90+ rushing yards (-110)

That’s an intriguing rushing prop today against the Vikings, factoring in his explosiveness and importance to Detroit’s offence. The Lions offence is averaging 30.7 points per game, second in the NFL, and has exceeded 400 yards of offence in four consecutive games.

Best NFL Week 8 Wide Receiver Props

Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens, 90+ receiving yards (-115)

Jackson’s return will be a big boost for Flowers, who’s having a great year (608 yards on 40 catches and three TDs, seventh in the NFL).

Flowers has had games of 150, 84 and 118 receiving yards in his three games with Jackson at quarterback.

Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals, 70+ receiving yards (-115)

The Bengals have been money the past few weeks, and they’re playing the abhorrent Titans. Higgins is coming off a 148-yard performance against Baltimore, and is a solid alternative option to Ja’Marr Chase.

The Bengals have won two straight, and their passing game is hitting its stride. Quarterback Joe Burrow has four touchdown passes and no interceptions in each of the last two games. Higgins is ninth in the NFL with 571 yards.

The Titans, meanwhile, are allowing 364.1 total yards per game, the seventh-most in the NFL, including 233 through the air (ninth-worst).

Best NFL Week 8 Quarterback Props

Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders, 40+ rushing yards (+105)

In NFL betting picks, this is actually conservative. I think Daniels will have a big game against the Eagles tonight. At Betway, if you are curious, Daniels’ 50+ is priced at +175.

His scrambling ability, plus the Eagles’ disappointing run defence, ranked 27thagainst the run (131.4 rushing yards allowed per game), positions Daniels for a good game in what has been a busy season to date for the Commanders.

The Eagles allowed Dallas 204 rushing yards on Monday night.

Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Under 285.5 passing yards (-115)

Mayfield is fresh off a thumb injury and was out for a while, so I don’t know how much he’s acclimated to game action. He’s up today against the Falcons, one of the NFL’s biggest surprises so far, even at 3-4, if you look at their offence under Michael Penix Jr.

Mayfield has yet to exceed 217 passing yards in a game this season and the weather forecast for Tampa is 49% chance of thunderstorms at kickoff.
