Commanders vs Eagles Picks & Predictions | NFL Week 8 2026

Our Commanders vs Eagles betting picks for NFL Week 8 2026 include odds analysis, best bets, key matchups and picks for your same-game parlay

A few weeks ago, a matchup between the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles held far more intrigue than it does today.

The two teams meet Sunday night, with the Commanders at a disappointing 1-4-1 and the Eagles at 2 -5, missing star quarterback Jalen Hurts for the season with a blood clot issue, while running back Saquon Barkley is clearly limited by a hamstring injury.

Tonight’s game at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland starts at 8:15 p.m. EST on NBC, with cloudy skies and temperatures around 50 degrees F in the forecast.

Other than Hurts, the Eagles will be without LB Jihaad Campbell (hamstring), WR Britain Covey (knee), WR Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring), CB Jonathan Jones (undisclosed), RB Dameon Pierce (undisclosed), CB Jakorian Bennett (knee), and OT Lane Johnson (undisclosed).

On the Commanders front, WR Jaylin Lane (ankle), OT Laremy Tunsil (triceps), WR Terry McLaurin (knee), DT Javon Kinlaw (knee), DT Jer’Zhan Newton (pectoral), DT Daron Payne (fractured foot) are out, while DE Charles Omenihu (undisclosed), TE John Bates (shoulder) and Treylon Burks (foot) are questionable.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels versus the Eagles’ run defence is a big matchup. Philadelphia gave up 204 rushing yards to the Dallas Cowboys last week and ranks 27th in the NFL (131.4 yards per game). Daniels can dash. His ability to escape pressure and extend plays could hurt an Eagles defence struggling to contain the run.

Saquon Barkley versus Washington’s front seven is another factor, especially with Barkley’s back and hamstring injury. He is slated to play tonight, but Barkley laboured through seven snaps last week against Dallas on Monday night. Washington has a pretty efficient run defence, 14th in the NFL.

Stefon Diggs versus the Eagles secondary is another interesting matchup. Diggs has caught 24 passes for 214 yards and four touchdowns in five games. The Eagles rank 24th in the NFL in pass defence, allowing 247.9 passing yards per game (and 11 passing touchdowns).

Here are my Commanders vs Eagles picks.

Commanders vs Eagles Betting Trends

The big trend is this: Philly’s 1-6 record against the spread (ATS), second worst in the NFL entering the game, according to NBC Sports, adding that the Commanders under head coach Dan Quinn has been a much better bet when favoured (9-6 ATS as favourites) after he took over in 2024. Quinn has been getting beaten down in the media for grievous coaching mistakes all season, so that’s at least a ray of positivity from a sports betting perspective.

Commanders vs Eagles Odds

In NFL picks at Betway, the Commanders are -250 moneyline favourites, with the Eagles are +200. Washington is favoured by 5.5 points (-105), while Philadelphia is +5.5 (-115). The total is set at 40.5 points, with the Over and Under at -110.

Commanders vs Eagles Betting Picks

Take the Commanders -5.5 at home. They are coming off a bye, with Daniels healthy and the Eagles missing Hurts, Smith and Wicks. Their record makes me a little nervous, so I wouldn’t go for this beyond -5.5.

The Commanders have the clear edge at quarterback. Tanner McKee steps in for Hurts. Barkley will play, but he will be limited, as said. McLaurin’s absence impacts the Commanders. This one feels like a grind-it-out affair, with Daniels’ scrambling ability giving the Commanders an edge.

In NFL betting at Betway, Daniels 40+ rushing also has appeal, at +105. The Eagles have struggled against the run this season, dropping like a stone in the standings with all the injuries they’ve been dealing with. Daniels is healthy and gives Washington another dimension, especially on third downs.

I’m also going to take that Under 40.5 at -110. That’s low for a reason. The Eagles are playing a backup QB with a thin receiving corps, which likely means a more methodical approach on defence.

And if you’re looking for a little icing, take a gander at Dallas Goedert Over 4.5 receptions (-145). With Philly’s receiving corps depleted, McKee will lean on the tight end for those shorter passes.

Commanders vs Eagles Same Game Parlay

Barkley’s limited by injury, but he’s still a star, so let’s build a parlay around that reality. How does this sound: Daniels 200+ passing yards, Barkley 50+ rushing yards and Diggs 40+ receiving yards, for a total of +400 at Betway.
