Our NFL Week 2 TD scorer picks spotlight Sunday’s best bets, featuring expert analysis, key trends and top TD picks across the slate
Touchdown props were the theme of last night’s Thursday Night Football post-game show, where co-host Richard Sherman interviewed Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Allen had just gone off for five touchdowns in the Bills’ 41-31 win over the Detroit Lions (three passing and two rushing TDs), opening Buffalo’s new $2 billion home, Highmark Stadium, with a blast.
That’s five passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns in two games for Allen, further solidifying his MVP odds in NFL betting picks at Betway (+350).
Sherman told the audience Allen battled the flu before the game and received IV treatment, which Allen didn’t deny when asked. If this was Allen’s version of a flu game, it raises the question of just how high the Bills’ offence can soar when he’s fully healthy.
It got me thinking about NFL Week 2 TD scorer picks across the board, with a full slate of games Sunday, then the Monday night game in L.A. between the Chargers and New York Giants.
NFL Week 2 TD Scorer Trends
Allen is on another level so far this season, quarterbacking a Bills’ offence pumping on all cylinders. The Lions couldn’t contain them (Bills’ defence is another story, giving up 31 points in each of their two games, but let’s not go there now).
With other teams, it’s still too early to establish trends after Week 1 results. The sample size is too small. Analysts are still using 2025 stats to formulate projections.
For bettors, Week 2 touchdown betting is less about who scored in the opener and more about how teams use their players.
Running backs with clear goal-line roles remain especially attractive at this point in the season. Focus on red-zone carries, snap shares, and targets inside the 10-yard line rather than Week 1 touchdown totals.
Injuries are another big factor and can affect TD props, because red-zone opportunities have to go somewhere.
The Browns, in Florida taking on the Buccaneers, placed running back Dylan Sampson on injured reserve this week, which will only create more touches for Quinshon Judkins.
Other notable skill players who are dealing with injuries and are still “maybes” for Sunday include Texans WR Nico Collins (hamstring), Raiders TE Brock Bowers (knee), Ravens WR Zay Flowers (hamstring), Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (ribs) and 49ers TE George Kittle (Achilles recovery still being managed).
Also, Week 1 saw some big running back performances, giving bettors a snapshot of who coaches trust near the goal line.
Best NFL Week 2 Running Back TD Prop
When making my NFL betting picks, I’m adding another factor: teams that were favoured in Week 1, lost, and are terrified of going 0-2. That’s motivation for those teams and should support your TD scorer picks, not drive a TD bet.
Bijan Robinson, Falcons, anytime touchdown (-180)
Atlanta is exactly the type of 0-1 team worth targeting in Week 2. The Falcons entered the season with bigger expectations but managed only 13 points in their opening loss to Pittsburgh. Now they return home to face a Carolina Panthers defence that surrendered 59 points to Chicago in Week 1. Robinson is expensive at -180 as a standalone TD bet, but his matchup and scoring opportunity make him an excellent anchor for a TD parlay.
Derrick Henry, Ravens, anytime touchdown (-225)
That price is ugly, but focus on the underlying usage: six red zone carries and a rushing TD for Henry in Week 1. Again, like with Robinson, a great parlay anchor (a +124 two-pick parlay with Robinson at Betway).
Chase Brown, Bengals, anytime touchdown (+115)
A great combination of price and usage. Brown has scored in four consecutive games. In Week 1, Brown had 16 carries, 21 total touches, and a rushing touchdown, playing 71.4% of Cincinnati’s offensive snaps in their 33-27 win over the Bucs. By the numbers, Brown had five rushing attempts inside Tampa Bay’s 20-yard line.
Best NFL Week 2 Wide Receiver TD Props
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seahawks, anytime touchdown (+140)
A great play here, my leading WR TD pick, since Smith-Njigba had 11 targets in Week 1, three red-zone targets and two targets inside the 10, plus he scored from 45 yards out – two potential scoring paths.
Tee Higgins, Bengals, anytime touchdown (+175)
Higgins is super appealing as an endzone target in contested situations, given his 6-foot-4 height. And he’s long been a dangerous scoring threat for the Bengals, with his usage in Week 1 bearing that out – targeted six times against Tampa Bay, even though he didn’t score.
Best NFL Week 2 Quarterback TD Props
Lamar Jackson, Ravens, anytime touchdown (+175)
He’d be my No. 1 pick at QB, facing the Saints on Sunday after a 41-point opening win over the Colts. Jackson had a rushing TD off seven carries for 40 yards – proof once again that Jackson’s running ability remains an important part of the scoring plan under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. If you’re feeling frisky – he’s +700 at Betway for first touchdown scorer.
Jalen Hurt, Eagles, anytime touchdown, +150
I wouldn’t turn a blind eye to one of the NFL’s top goal-line rushing quarterbacks after he failed to score one in their Week 1 game, despite rushing seven times for 46 yards. I’m betting on a repeatable role for him against a weaker Titans team, which allowed the Jets to rush for 152 yards and two touchdowns last week. The defensive front didn’t have a sack.
Best Anytime Touchdown Props for Sunday
Staying with Eagles-Titans, go with Eagles running back Saquon Barkley anytime touchdown (-110) against that weak Titans run defence. Barkley is the clear workhorse in an Eagles offence that should control the game. That matchup and usage make him my top pick here.
