It’s no surprise that Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever’s rising star, tops the ranking as the most marketable WNBA player. With over 74,419 mentions in the past year and a staggering 1,897,585 new followers.

Her record-breaking performances have made her ideal for brands looking to tap into the women’s basketball market. Her 44.7% marketability score also places her well ahead of the competition.

In second place is Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese, another branding powerhouse off the court. Despite ranking sixth in total mentions (24,033), Reese saw the highest social media growth in the past year, adding over 2 million new followers, more than any other player. This rise has contributed to her 22.2% marketability score, making her one of the most influential figures in the league.

Jewell Loyd continues to solidify her status as one of the WNBA’s most marketable stars, ranking third overall in online mentions over the past year. With 711 total mentions, impressive Instagram follower growth of 1,124,813 and a 6.4% marketability score, reflects her ability to connect with audiences and maintain relevance in a competitive industry.

Meanwhile, A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces racked up 4,620 mentions and 493,509 new followers. She remains a dominant force on and off the court, earning a 4.8% marketability score. As a multiple-time WNBA champion and MVP, her brand partnership opportunities are huge.

Who’s Losing Marketability?

While many players have seen their popularity rise, others have faced challenges in maintaining their influence.

Over the past year, both Elena Delle Donne and Liz Cambage have experienced a decline in social media following, signaling a potential shift in marketability. While they remain respected figures in the game, they now compete with a new wave of younger stars who are attracting attention both on and off the court.

There’s still plenty of time left in the WNBA offseason, and with the 2025 Draft just around the corner, all eyes are on upcoming changes. For more insider analysis and betting insights, check out our basketball coverage.

Methodology

Using the media monitoring tool Buzzsumo, we analyzed the total number of online mentions for each WNBA player in digital publications. Based on the total number of mentions, the players were then ranked from highest to lowest. Additionally, we used the social media analysis tool SocialBlade to track each player’s follower growth over the past year.

The two factors were then normalized and indexed to reveal a final most marketable score represented as a %.

Online mentions and follower count from April 1, 2024 – April 1, 2025, were analyzed.
