Liverpool take on Manchester City in one of the most eagerly-anticipated Premier League games for some time on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds – third-favourites in the outright Premier League betting – were arguably the team most affected by Manchester City’s period of dominance that has been judged to have been funded illegitimately during this international break.
For City, quite how the players and coaches respond to the scandal will be fascinating.
Here are our football tips for the 4.30pm kick-off on Merseyside producing an 18/1 Bet Builder.

Liverpool to win
It’s going to be an incredible atmosphere at Anfield and one Liverpool must lean into.
Even though most of the Reds squad were not affected by City’s period of dominance, there can surely be no greater motivation than proving a point – and winning their fifth game in six in the process.
For City, it feels harder to imagine where that bullish motivation can come from, with so many question marks about their future.
Just as it has done in the past at Anfield, an onslaught of Liverpool pressure could blow the eight-time champions away.
Over 2.5 goals
This fixture has served up some classics over the years and this looks set to be another.
Seventeen of the 25 meetings between the sides have seen over 2.5 goals land since the true beginning of the rivalry in 2017/18, including all three games last season.
For Liverpool, memories of the 4-3 win in January 2018 and 3-1 victory in November 2019 should be their strongest.
Dominic Szoboszlai to take 1+ shot on target
Szoboszlai is averaging one shot on target per game already this season, having two or more efforts in total in every Premier League match.
His record in these biggest games is excellent, too, after he scored at home to Arsenal and City last season.
Always good for a pop from distance, we like the look of the Hungarian in this market at odds-against.
Elliot Anderson to take 1+ shot on target
Anderson’s on-target ratio is not as strong but this is still worth a go at a price of bigger than 2/1.
The in-form midfielder has had a pop in three of his last four league matches and took six across the four games with England during the break.
We may also benefit from City’s summer signing playing further forward if Ayyoub Bouaddi comes into the team, but he has a chance either way.
Liverpool v Manchester City odds
Liverpool should be all over City like a rash here, and that forms the basis of our Bet Builder.
If a couple of quality midfielders can do their bit, we have a chance at landing this 18/1 football betting Bet Builder.
