Premier League tips: A 16/1 acca for Sunday’s action

Our selections for this weekend's Premier League fixtures include wins for both Everton and Nottingham Forest.

With the FA Cup final taking centre stage on Saturday, most of the Premier League action is on Sunday this weekend, with five matches being played then, including two key games in the battle to finish in the top five.

Nottingham Forest are bidding to snap out of their poorly timed three-match winless run in the league when they visit West Ham, while the day ends with an attractive clash between Arsenal and in-form Newcastle, who will leapfrog the Gunners and move into second place if they can win at the Emirates Stadium.

We have put together a football betting four-fold to consider which, if successful, would return at 16/1.

Everton to beat Southampton

It should be an emotional occasion as Everton play what is expected to be their final men’s Premier League match at Goodison Park before they move into their new stadium next season.

The Toffees look a short price for a team who have won only two of their last 11 games, but having taken four points from their last two matches after forgivable defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea, they are in much better form than their visitors.

Southampton achieved a target of sorts when their goalless draw with Manchester City last week earned them their 12th point of the season and moved them clear of the 2007-08 Derby side in the list of worst-ever Premier League teams.

However, the Saints have not won any of their last 13 matches, losing 10 of them, and they have been beaten in 14 of their 18 away league games.

Nottingham Forest to beat West Ham

The pressure is on Nottingham Forest after they fell to seventh in the table with last week’s 2-2 draw against Leicester but they should have the quality to keep themselves in the race for a top-five finish.

Their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City at Wembley seems to have taken the wind out of Forest’s sails and they have claimed only two points from three league games since, but a full week off has given them a chance to recharge their batteries.

West Ham were winning for the first time in nine matches when beating Manchester United last week, but they have not won any of their last four fixtures at the London Stadium and look vulnerable to a team with much more to play for.

Brentford to beat Fulham

Brentford have shot up to eighth place in the table with four consecutive wins and they still have hope of playing European football next season with two games to play.

The Bees have dispatched Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and Ipswich in consecutive games and might not be finished yet as they look for revenge over their west London rivals Fulham.

The Cottagers snatched victory in the teams’ first meeting in November with two very late goals after Brentford had led for more than an hour, but Marco Silva’s men are clear underdogs this time after losing four of their last five games.

Leicester City to beat Ipswich Town

The party atmosphere expected at Goodision Park is unlikely to be repeated at the King Power Stadium, where Leicester play their final home game before returning to the Championship against another of the relegated sides, Ipswich.

The Foxes have shown some character to pick up four points from their last two games, though, and they have the slight incentive of moving up to 18th place by overtaking their visitors if they win.

Town have not won any of their last six matches and Leicester are unbeaten in the last five meetings between the teams.
