EFL Cup tips: A 15/2 Bet Builder for Arsenal v Chelsea

Arsenal have put themselves in a strong position to reach the League Cup final with a 3-2 win in the first leg at Stamford Bridge and they can beat Chelsea for a second time to secure their Wembley place.

Chelsea showed their comeback qualities with Saturday’s 3-2 win at home to West Ham and they will be looking to retrieve another deficit when taking on EFL Cup semi-final opponents Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

The Blues failed to make the most of home advantage in last month’s first leg which finished with a 3-2 triumph for Mikel Arteta’s side.

That result extended Arsenal’s unbeaten sequence against Chelsea to nine matches.

However, the Blues were 2-0 winners in a Premier League meeting back in August 2021 and they will be striving for a similar outcome as they attempt to advance to the EFL Cup final for an 11th time.

The highly-anticipated contest in London is the subject of a Bet Builder which, if successful, returns odds of 15/2.

Gunners should finish the job

Arsenal have had a few minor wobbles in recent weeks but they were back to their best in Saturday’s 4-0 victory at Leeds and can follow up by defeating Chelsea in their EFL Cup semi-final second leg.

The Gunners only need a draw to seal a place in next month’s final, but they will be preparing to deliver a typically front-foot performance in front of a sell-out crowd.

Mikel Arteta’s side were left stunned by their recent 3-2 reverse against Manchester United which ended a 17-game unbeaten sequence on home soil.

But they responded with a superb performance at Elland Road where they utterly dismantled one of the Premier League’s in-form teams.

Chelsea have been winning games under Liam Rosenior but they have a few questions to answer after a dreadful first-half performance in Saturday’s 3-2 success over West Ham.

The Blues eventually overwhelmed the Hammers with a strong finish to the game, but they showed a lot of defensive weaknesses which are likely to be ruthlessly exposed by the Premier League leaders.

Leg 1: Arsenal to win @ 4/6

Super Swede can silence his critics

Viktor Gyokeres is having a bumpy ride in his first season as an Arsenal player, but he bagged four goals in eight January appearances and can start February with a flourish by scoring against Chelsea.

The Swede was on target in Saturday’s 4-0 triumph at Leeds and appears to be growing in confidence.

He has contributed 11 goals across all competitions and looks ready to deliver against Chelsea, who have not kept a clean sheet in eight consecutive away games.

Leg 2: Viktor Gyokeres to score anytime @ 6/4

Combative Caicedo can add to card count

Moises Caicedo has already served an EFL Cup suspension after collecting yellow cards in the victories away to Wolves (4-3) and away to Cardiff (3-1).

The Ecuadorian never holds back and was given a straight red in the 1-1 Premier League draw against the Gunners at Stamford Bridge in November.

Caicedo missed the first leg but has every chance of adding to his caution count in the second, with Chelsea chasing the game.

Leg 3: Moises Caicedo to be carded @ 6/4
