Our research reveals where interest in Black Friday deals is strongest across the continent.
Black Friday is now just days away, and shoppers across the United States and Canada are eagerly searching for the best bargains ahead of Christmas 2025.
With the event firmly established as a major moment in the national shopping calendar, the team here at online casino Betway set out to discover which area across the continent is home to the most dedicated bargain hunters.
To find the answer, the research examined a range of popular search terms from the past month, including Black Friday, Sale, Televisions, Headphones and Air Fryers. By combining the total search volumes for each term, the study reveals where interest in Black Friday deals is strongest across the two nations.
The US rankings, based on total searches and searches per 100,000 people, can be seen in the table below.

Maryland leads the nation in Black Friday excitement, posting an impressive 81,520 Black Friday-related searches in the past month. With its population size, this equates to a remarkable 1,294 searches per 100,000 people, placing the state far ahead of all others.
Headphones are the state’s most in-demand item this year, averaging over 66,000 searches in the last month – more than any other city.
Nevada secures second place accumulating 15,200 searches, which equals 461 searches per 100,000 people. This state’s total is also bolstered by its massive demand for headphones. The state averaged a considerable 9,900 searches for the product.
Colorado comes in third place with 25,740 searches, amounting to 429 searches per 100,000 people. Coloradans display a steady and focused interest in sales, making 8,100 direct searches for ‘Black Friday’ on average.
Washington rounds out the top four, recording 31,680 searches and 396 searches per 100,000 people. The state’s interest in products is evenly split across the board, but consistently high with 1,000 ‘television’ searches, 18,100 ‘headphones’ searches and 880 ‘air fryers’ searches.
In fifth meanwhile, is California, which records an average of 385 searches per 100,000 people. California has the most direct searches for ‘Black Friday’ nationally – 40,500 queries in total.
The rest of the top ten is completed by some major states, including sixth placed New York with its 382 searches per 100,000 people, reflecting the state’s consistently high demand for seasonal deals. Florida sits just behind with 359 searches per 100,000 people, driven by its large population of eager holiday shoppers, while Oregon posts 353 searches per 100,000 people.
Taking ninth spot, New Jersey registers 344 searches per 100,000 people, while Texas completes the top ten with 343 searches per 100,000 people.
Meanwhile, in Canada, Vancouver topped the list as the most Black Friday obsessed city. You can see the full table below:

Methodology
Using Google Keyword Planner, Betway was able to gather average search volume for selected keywords over the last 30 days. These figures were then added together to reveal a total Black Friday demand. This total was later divided by each state’s populations and multiplied by 100,000.
