We surveyed 1,000 NFL fans to see which Super Bowl-less franchise is the most deserving of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
While some franchises are spoiled with multiple Super Bowl wins, others have had it a lot tougher over the years.
In the NFL, 12 franchises have never had a taste of Super Bowl success, and this got our NFL betting team thinking, which of these 12 fanbases are the most deserving of success?
To find out, we commissioned a survey of 1,000 NFL fans to see which Lombardi-less fanbase they thought deserves a Super Bowl the most.
According to the results, NFL fans want the Buffalo Bills faithful to experience the feeling of winning it all.
Either the Bills Mafia’s crazy tailgates, which usually involve fans jumping through tables, has endeared them to others, or the team’s many heartbreaking postseason losses over the years seem to have garnered some sympathy. 19% of those surveyed said they think Bills supporters are the most deserving of a Super Bowl win.
Meanwhile, 11% of NFL fans said they would like to see the Detroit Lions experience a Super Bowl win next. Unlike the Bills, Detroit has never even had a taste of playing in the big game and had the embarrassment of going 0-16 in 2008. Head coach Dan Campbell’s tenure has been a success so far, winning 2 division titles. However, a Super Bowl win or appearance still evades the organisation.
The Cleveland Browns are another franchise where success isn’t the first thing you think of when hearing their name. Like the Lions, they have never played in a Super Bowl and have also had a 0-16 season. All the Browns’ struggles over the years may have others feeling sorry for them, as 9% of NFL fans stated they would like the Browns to win it all for their fans.
On the other hand, the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans were the two least popular selections. Only 2% said they believe the Cards fans deserve Super Bowl success, while just 4% said the same about the Titans.
It should also be noted that 11% of respondents answered that they did not think any of the 12 fanbases are deserving of a Super Bowl win.
The fanbases most deserving of a Super Bowl win as judged by other NFL fans can be seen below.
