Volkov v Harris odds:

Two heavyweight stalwarts meet on the main card of UFC 254 on Fight Island, as Alexander Volkov and Walt Harris face off in an intriguing contest.

Both fighters have been part of the UFC for several years now, with Harris making his debut in 2013 and Volkov joining the ranks in 2016.

It is the Russian who has impressed most during his stint in the organisation, compiling a solid 5-2 record, with his career line standing at 31-8.

Despite dropping two of his last three, ‘Drago’ comes into the fight as a clear favourite.

Harris has been massively inconsistent throughout his UFC career, with a 6-7-1 record after 14 contests.

He was, however, on a nice run of three wins and one no contest before his last fight, when he was knocked out by Alistair Overeem despite nearly securing a finish in the first round.

‘The Big Ticket’ heads to Fight Island as a underdog.

Volkov v Harris prediction:

Despite his status as favourite for this fight, Volkov has shown vulnerability to fighters of a similar style to Harris in the past.

He was knocked out by Derrick Lewis at UFC 229 and fell to a decision loss against Curtis Blaydes in his most recent fight.

Harris is of similar stature to both Lewis and Blaydes and, like those two, will come forward looking for the finish – all 13 of his career wins have come by way of knockout.

Volkov will attempt to use his superior height and reach to keep the fight at a distance, while his excellent cardio should see his hand raised if the fight reaches the third round.

If Harris manages to get inside, however, a knockout is sure to come, and his underdog status makes him a tempting value pick.

The Alabama native performed well of late, putting together his most impressive run in the UFC, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him continue that run by finishing Volkov on Fight Island.
