Here are five bets Guy Giles thinks you should consider for the final between England and South Africa, which kicks off at 09:00 on Saturday.

South Africa (+5)

England come in as heavy favourites but it would be foolish to discount their opponents.

England won by a single point the last time they faced South Africa in November 2018, when they were lucky not to lose to a late penalty, and a similarly close contest is likely on Saturday.

Under 37.5 total points

This has landed in the last three matches between these sides, with 23, 35 and 35 points being scored.

The Springboks’ conservative game plan means Saturday’s match is unlikely to be a free-flowing affair.

Both teams to score a try

The last six meetings between these sides have seen tries scored by both sides.

There were tries at both ends in each semi-final, as well as England’s convincing quarter-final victory over Australia, so this looks a safe bet.

Anytime tryscorer: Jonny May

May is England’s joint-top try scorer at the World Cup with three.

The winger has a brilliant record against the Boks, scoring four in six appearances, including three in three on last summer’s tour to South Africa.

Anytime tryscorer: Bongi Mbonambi

Hooker Mbonambi has had an impressive tournament, scoring three tries for South Africa.

The maul is an area where they will look to target England and, with Mbonambi directing the pack, he is likely to get a few chances to add to his tally.
