One happy customer struck it lucky on the Grand National on Saturday after winning £25,000 in 4 To Win, Betway’s free-to-play prediction game.

It was the second the time in three days that the jackpot had been won, with customers simply having to predict the winners of four selected races at Aintree.

John Fyfe was the only player to correctly pick Aux Ptits Soins, If The Cap Fits and Kildisart earlier in the day, meaning he was relying on Tiger Roll to finish the job by becoming the first horse to win back-to-back Grand Nationals since Red Rum in 1974.

"I'm absolutely speechless," said John, a sheet metal worker from Hull.

“I’ve never won anything in my life.”

The 46-year-old admitted that he had a little help from elsewhere before making his selections, but trusted himself for the big one.

“I chose the first three horses based on tips from my Dad, but Tiger Roll was my pick. He’s just such a little powerful horse and I know he keeps going.

“I just had this feeling he would do it again.”

He had been following his picks throughout the day with excitement, but faced an agonising wait to see if anyone else had the same selections.

“I watched the race on TV and knew I’d had the first three winners in the competition, I just didn’t know whether or not a tie-break was needed and how many other people had picked it.”

To top it off, John had also placed a separate bet on the favourite to win.

“I actually backed Tiger Roll for the race for £10, which was a big bet for me, so I was already cheering him home.

But he is still yet to decide how he is going to spend his winnings.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do with the money as it just hasn’t sunk in yet.

“To get this phone call has made my afternoon. Actually, scrap that, it’s made my year.”
